Yes I agree but don鈥檛 make the mistake of choosing one when you can be part of both. Crypto gets a bad rap because conversations about it esp on Naija Twitter rarely go beyond its price and how to make quick money. Read the Bitcoin white paper and you鈥檒l see there鈥檚 much more to crypto than some of the pathetic discourse we see online.

Personally, for me the perps winners are already in just like CEX is dominated by just the top 3
@HyperliquidX , @Lighter_xyz and @variational_io will keep grabbing the entire market share going forward regardless of how many new launches we have.
The best long term play is to keep accumulating those spot bags of the said 3 and play it long.
Like I鈥檝e always said, @variational_io , thanks to the flawless execution by the team and the aligned long term incentives interms of tokenomics, will always be a great play all through 2027.

Don鈥檛 get farmed by greedy teams if you don鈥檛 have clear edge.
Majority of new perp dexs = L2s of last cycle. Overbuilt and unnecessary.
I don鈥檛 see 0.035% fee and 0.02% spreads models as remotely competitive. Only attracting farmers in hope of future rewards (which prob won鈥檛 happen).
I was very optimistic in Jan that there would be a few more successful platforms after Lighter. Which has proven to be true with Vari and hopefully Pacifica and Extended. Don鈥檛 believe the same is true for 2027.
Some realize this already like Risex which is going no fee (this is a positive development). Also seeing it with all the free USDC rewards to attract users (and then drop off afterwards).
I鈥檓 starting to believe vari could be my last perp dex farm (will switch to funding and other strategies).
Unless there are new innovative models esp on token / point structures that pay to use but not sure we will see new product innovations. I was hopeful paper could be an interesting catalyst for reimagining bootstrapping but the recent announcement has been very negative. We will see what is next.
