🚨🎙️ Peter Schmeichel on Manchester City’s controversial penalty decisions against Brighton:
“Honestly, I will never understand what has been going on with Premier League referees lately. And I’m saying this knowing very well that Manchester City are a rival, so I have absolutely no reason to defend them or pretend I’m on their side. But sometimes you have to be honest about what you’re watching.
I keep replaying both incidents, trying to understand exactly why a penalty wasn’t given. Not once, but twice. And I’m sorry, I genuinely cannot understand the decisions. At some point, you start asking yourself what exactly the officials are looking at because those are situations that deserve serious consideration.
From my point of view, it actually feels like they really wanted Manchester City to lose this game. I’m not saying that is what happened, but when you look at those two incidents and neither results in a penalty, you have to question the consistency of the decisions.
And how long are we going to keep overlooking things like this? These decisions can change the entire direction of a game. They can be the difference between winning, drawing and losing, especially in a match of this importance.
Now, let me be clear. Brighton deserve enormous credit. They played a fantastic game, defended brilliantly and you could see how much effort they put into stopping Manchester City from scoring at the Etihad. They came with a plan and executed it extremely well.
But giving Brighton their credit doesn’t mean we should ignore what happened with those penalty decisions. Both things can be true. Brighton deserved their performance, but those penalties could have changed the game. And that is exactly why these decisions need to be discussed.”

Saudi Arabia sent its troops directly onto the battlefield to fight against Israel in 1948, ’67, and ’73.
Saudi blood was spilled on Palestinian soil.
Saudi martyrs were buried in Gaza.
When King Faisal cut oil to America in 1973, he didn’t just raise prices. He crashed markets and forced the world’s strongest power to feel the cost of its choices. But that didn’t help either.
Saudi leadership learned the hard way that emotion-driven wars only fill more graves; they don’t solve the problem.
Imposing an oil embargo wasn’t a lasting solution either, it raised the cost of Western support for Israel, but it didn’t resolve the conflict.
That’s when they took a different approach, a more pragmatic one: to strengthen the Muslims around the globe, to gather them upon the same creed, to support their needs, and to achieve the objectives diplomatically rather than emotionally.
Today, while cameras filmed tears and statements, Saudi cargo planes were landing with ICU beds, medicine, and aid into Gaza’s underground hospitals.
When Western donors froze UNRWA funding, Saudi Arabia kept signing the checks that kept rations moving for millions of children.
And behind closed doors, Saudi officials told the White House the same thing they’ve said publicly for decades: 1967 borders, an independent Palestine, East Jerusalem as its capital.
These facts rarely trend. Because quiet, consistent action doesn’t sell like outrage. And the business of hatred is still the most profitable one online.

In Dagestan, a 45-year-old teacher spends four hours a day walking mountain paths to reach a school with just three pupils, situated 1,800 metres above sea level, reports Mash.
Khadizhat Shekhmagomedovna is the school’s only teacher, covering every subject herself.
She has been making the 14km daily round trip on foot for nine years, braving wolves and treacherous mountain terrain.
Despite the difficulties, she has no intention of quitting, she tells Mash.
