My male employee was so upset in a hypothetical where I said I would tell a female acquaintance if her partner was cheating. He struggled to understand how knowledge makes you an accomplice to the crime, and a “nunya” stance doesn’t change that you’re aiding the criminal.

LMFAO -- Trump is holding an event at the White House right now but there's no audio because the press pool isn't there. The Newsmax host notes that this is an example of Trump's attacks on the press "backfiring just a little bit"

As we all know, the Arc de Triomphe is actually a Transformer. It also joins up with Eiffel Tower and Pompidou Center to form a large Voltron like robot. Trump is falling behind. (This is sarcasm. So many people just can't seem to figure it out.)

That’s mostly why I still read here. I’ve felt this simmering animosity all my life that men in person will pretend and deny is there. But with the cloak of anonymity? People let you see into their minds. It helps you to understand who to avoid and who isn’t like this.
We’re not consuming hate media, we’re reading men’s actual comments online

If you hand throw a bullet at me, it doesn't pierce my skin. If you put that same bullet in a gun and shoot it at me, guess what changes? Bullets travel at the same speed as the 767s were going when they hit the towers.

It's insane how people have such poor understanding of basic high school science. The planes were going 500+ miles per hour and they weigh 225,000 to 400,000 pounds, with at least 110,000 pounds of that being jet fuel. So yes, it slices through thin steel and glass like butter.

This year’s 9/11 has made me feel more grief than I’ve felt in a long while…because so many adults alive now were too young to remember the world before it. And they’re posting jokes, denials and minimizing it online. This is how it will happen again.

I find these World Trade Center simulations by Kostack Studio fascinating because they remove the smoke and let you see the collapse much more clearly. In the real footage, so much is hidden by fire, dust, debris, distance, and chaos that many people come away with the impression that the towers simply dropped straight down into their own footprints. But that is not really what happened. These simulations make it much easier to see that the collapse begins in the heavily damaged and fire-weakened region, the upper section starts moving and tilting, and the destruction then propagates downward through the structure. The towers do not simply disappear vertically into their own footprints. Large portions of the upper structure and exterior are moving outward and to the side as the collapse develops. Much of that motion is simply obscured in the real videos once the enormous debris cloud forms. And this is also why I find these simulations useful when people describe the collapses as looking like “controlled demolition.” Strip away the smoke and dust and the resemblance becomes much less convincing. What you see is a highly asymmetric structural failure beginning around the aircraft-damaged and fire-affected floors, followed by an enormous moving mass progressively overwhelming the structure beneath it. There is tilting, rotation, exterior columns peeling away, debris being thrown far outside the building footprint, and structural failure occurring chaotically as the collapse moves downward. That is very different from the neat mental image usually implied by “controlled demolition,” where structural supports are deliberately severed in a carefully timed sequence to produce a predetermined collapse. And importantly, we already know what preceded these collapses. Both towers suffered massive aircraft-impact damage. Fireproofing was stripped from portions of the structure. Large, uncontrolled fires then burned across multiple floors - for about 56 minutes in the South Tower and about 102 minutes in the North Tower - heating and weakening structural components until collapse initiated. Once that upper mass began moving, the loads imposed on the floors and structure beneath became vastly greater than anything they had been designed to carry. The result was progressive collapse. No, an animation is not proof simply because it looks convincing, and these are not official NIST simulations. They are visualizations built under particular assumptions. But as visualizations, I think they are extremely useful. They let you see something the original footage often cannot show clearly: beneath that enormous cloud of smoke and debris was a complicated, violent, asymmetric structural failure - not two buildings neatly dropping straight down into their own footprints. A note on the simulation: this is not intended to reproduce the collapse down to the exact motion of every beam, floor panel, and fragment of debris. No practical simulation could do that. Its value is in modeling the large-scale structural behavior - how the major sections deform, move, tilt, separate, and progressively fail. Think of it as a visualization of the mechanics and overall collapse behavior, not a frame-by-frame reconstruction of where every piece of steel ultimately landed.

If Trump gave everyone $5000 right now, the GOP would benefit at the polls, while also not souring smarter GOP voters who noticed this is a clear-cut illegal bribe. That’s the tell that there is no money coming. That and his trail of broken promises and obvious lies.

When aliens come in thousands of years after humanity is extinct, they’re going to be so curious about graves with nothing but fossilized breast implants. Things like plastic tampon applicators will probably outlive books and digital records of our existence.

In 1988 Dolly Parton pulled every 7th and 8th grader in Sevier County into a room and told them to pick a buddy. She made them sign a contract.. if BOTH graduate, she hands you both $500. One fails, nobody gets paid. The county dropout rate went from 35% to 6%. She handed out the checks herself. In 1989 she offered $500 to every kid in the county who wanted to go to the local college. When Gatlinburg burned in 2016, she sent 900 families $1,000 a month for six months. You've probably heard that part. Here's the part you haven't: The fund raised more than expected, so she showed up in May and handed every one of those families another $5,000 on top. Then she quietly put $3 million into the recovery group that handles the years after the news trucks leave. She built her county an entire hospital. She played a benefit concert in 2007, Dollywood and the Stampede matched it, and LeConte Medical Center opened in 2010 with a birthing unit and a women's center in it. In 2022 she started covering 100% of tuition, books, and fees for Dollywood employees. Full-time, part-time, AND seasonal. In 1991 she paid for a bald eagle sanctuary because the birds couldn't be released back into the wild, no press release. And when Hurricane Helene came through here in Western North Carolina, she wrote a personal check for $1 million and her companies matched it. She didn't owe North Carolina anything, but she helped us anyway. She started the Imagination Library because her daddy couldn't read or write. Before he passed, he told her it was the most important thing she ever did. Rest in Peace, Dolly 🇺🇸

You’re single because you’re in Africa, pretending to be an American man to peddle misogyny to other men to pay for a blue check you don’t need.
And people wonder why i’m single. This is literally almost every interaction i have getting to know women in the getting to know stage 🤦🏾‍♂️
