My book--the book born from years of obsession about my face, from hospitalizations, from living with a body that betrays me--will be out to share with the world in 2024 ✨💕
Not only that, but it'll heralded in by the magnificent @rgay of all people 🦄 I've never felt luckier.

ALT Publisher's Marketplace Deal Report on a pink background full of makeup. Text reads: University of Arizona MFA Eshani Surya’s debut RAVISHING, a deeply-felt family story and genre-bent commentary on the homogenized beauty industry, following two Indian-American siblings who separately find themselves in the clutches of a sinister beauty tech company, grappling with chronic illness, capitalist greed, and communal care in spite of it all, to Roxane Gay at Roxane Gay Books, for publication in 2024, by Dana Murphy and Stephanie Delman at Trellis Literary Management (World).

Philly! Mark your calendars!
Sunday @ 6:30pm at Meyer's Brewing, we're gathering to write letters to Josh Shapiro to pressure him to flex federal funding to support SEPTA.
@Fishtown will provide all the letter writing supplies you need, along with a template of what to say 🚃
my new therapist deserves a raise because i fucked up big at work yesterday and after about 30 sec my brain said “well, all humans make mistakes” LET ME REPEAT my brain said “well, all humans make mistakes”
the thing about chronic illness is once you start talking abt your struggles, you’ll find that so many people open up abt their own too. the paradigm changes. the norm isn’t some stable perfect image of health and wellness, but rather the chaos that is the human body
i would like to amend my disability accommodations at work to include them buying non zero ply toilet paper*
* my inflammatory bowel disease butt cannot handle this any longer

My book, SAD GROWNUPS, came out a month ago. Feels like five years. It's in large part about how to get by in an increasingly hostile world. I hope you'll order it @Bookshop_Org or at your local bookstore or library.
Did you have an indie book come out this year? Link it below!
curious: for those who have perhaps experienced personal and professional burnout at the same time, what did you do to recuperate and how long did it take?

getting my shingrix vaccine today (eligible because I’m immunosuppressed) and just reminding you all check up on your vaccines NOW and not later

After a year of hearing, “the risk to the public is low,” the CDC is now warning the public about H5N1 bird flu symptoms.
#H5N1 #birdflu symptoms may include fever or feeling feverish or chills, eye redness or irritation, and respiratory symptoms, such as cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, muscle or body aches, headaches, and tiredness. More: cdc.gov/bird-flu

As I'm here less and less, a reminder, I've got a free Discord for writers in the greater Philadelphia region that I run with @skrishna, and if you need a community... drop me a line.
Doesn't matter where you're at in your career, there's an invite waiting for you. 💛

This should be illegal. This is voter suppression. We really need to standardize our voting laws across the nation because this is ridiculous.
🚨 ATTN: Cobb County, Georgia, voters:
The Georgia Supreme Court has denied relief for Cobb County voters who requested absentee ballots on time but did not receive them on time because the county failed to mail them promptly.
Cobb County voters affected by the County’s late mailing of absentee ballots must now vote in person or get their ballots to the Cobb County Elections office by 7 p.m. on Nov. 5. The office is at 995 Roswell St. NE, Marietta, GA 30060.
