AI was supposed to make us work less I've never been this tired in my life most days I have up to 10 agents running at the same time. one fixing a bug, one writing pages, one refactoring something I already forgot I asked for, 3 other I have no idea what they are doing but i suppose i ask it? and I jump from conversation to conversation all day compared to 5 years ago, I probably context switch 100x more by the end of the day my brain is fried. completely toasted. nothing left, not even for the people I love I call it the fried brain effect thought it was just me but almost every founder I talk to lately says the exact same thing we got superpowers, and somehow the pressure only went up. if you can ship 10x more, you feel like you have to ship 10x more. every single day I don't have a solution honestly I have no idea where this goes from here anyone else feeling this?

let me tell you why saas is not dead and how deep in the rabbit hole we are on x ⬖ my wife is technical enough, worked as QA before, understands the concepts of cloud, hosting, frontend vs backend, etc etc. ⬖ she has 2 subs to copen ai and claude, uses them on desktop and on mobile ⬖ she has heard me rambling about ai for 4 years non stop and knows most terms ⬖ she has vibed a few websites for fun and is a creative person overall so i see she subscribed (recurring lol) to a "learn driving tests" app i asked her wtf why dont u vibe yourself one?? it will be even better, more visual, tailored to you, etc etc. she was like "uhm but why, someone already put all the effort and i just wanna be done with my driving tests" now think about the people who have NONE OF THE bulletpoints above lmfao 💀 put a price tag and just put the saas in the bag lil bro no one is vibecoding shit

a ui that stays the same every time is a feature for most people, nobody wants to re-learn their banking app because a model felt creative

Yes. And by “native”, people usually mean different things. For example, Flutter has native performance but it doesn’t render native platform UI. React Native on the other hand, renders native platform UI, but does come with a minor JS overhead. This debate happens in desktop development too. Qt has native performance but it doesn’t render native platform UI. The only clear case that almost everyone can agree on is Electron apps are not native. But then there are fast and optimized Electron apps (albeit rare) and there are bloated slow SwiftUI apps. Instead of treat “native” as automatically better, instrument and find the real bottleneck. Sometimes it’s not the framework’s fault but just one slow dependency/component in the whole stack.
I hate how imprecise the term “native” has become. Is a UIKit app that mostly displays WebViews, such as Apple News, not a native app? What about an app that’s entirely rendered with UIKit or SwiftUI, but orchestrated by a bytecode file, as with React Native? How about a social network app that’s so server-driven it makes network round-trips before navigation? Do you trust that an app built with UIKit is doing concurrency better than the reasonable defaults of SwiftUI? Today, software is developed in natural language. When you use imprecise prompts, you get sloppy results. I ban my agents from using the term “native” to describe technical details. Your agent will inherit your principles, so why allow any room for ambiguity? Reject technical imprecision. Be curious about performance characteristics, and strive for data-backed answers.

It's something to build a demo. It's something completely different to build something that works reliably at scale - doesn't have to be Meta scale. People underestimate how hard it is to actually build and operate a great product.

Also everyone is going to be able to write books by the end of 2025. Technically true, but the books and games are shit.

the road ahead for frontend coding is still pretty long models are getting much better at being superficially better (flashy 3d games, design), but still fail in reality

everyone in the indiehacking (and startup) space thought that, thanks to ai they could be building many projects at once but it seems the opposite is true: every market started to move faster, and competition is harder i don't necessarily think we are getting better products but just more it's almost sad that ai allows you to explore so many things, but you still need to really lock in to create something outstanding

Customers don't care about: - How many PRs you shipped - How many commits you pushed - How many Jira tickets you closed - How much test coverage you have - How many lines of code you added or removed - How often you deploy - What tech stack you run They care about: - Their problems being solved - Less bugs, and bugs fixed quickly - Fast software, that reliably does what they expect - An interface that's intuitive, and respects their time
I've merged and shipped 114 PRs in the last 2 days

your codebase is part of your "harness" the better the primitives, quality, and structure, the better the code ai will write slop will compound fast

Read it or not - you should own the code the you released to production.

We’re slowly starting to see the pendulum swing back as people realize that replacing production software with vibe-coded alternatives isn’t always the smartest idea. You only have so many hours in a day.
