My girlfriend keeps asking me to check under our bed.
At first I thought it was cute. She’s always been afraid of the dark. Then she started asking me to make sure there weren’t ghouls or goblins under the frame.
Every night for a week, lights out, she nudges me onto the floor.
Nothing. Ever. Just shoeboxes and junk.
By night five she was shaking. Night six she wouldn’t let me turn the light off until I checked. I did. Empty.
I finally told her she was being ridiculous. We argued until late. Slept facing opposite walls.
The next morning she acted like none of it happened.

My boss had a habit of delaying our salaries, but we later discovered why.
Whenever the company made good money, he would transfer the income into his wife’s account before payday.
One month, we were all waiting for our salaries.
Employee: “Sir, when are we getting paid?”
Boss: “Very soon. Just be patient.”

HR: “Yes. That's what you're supposed to receive.”
Everyone was celebrating.

My sister called me one afternoon and asked if I could send her $60.
