The most important thing a man ever taught me was to choose myself. To be selfish with my time, my energy and my love. To stop abandoning my own needs just to make someone else happy. To stop giving so much of myself to people who wouldn’t do the same for me. I learned that loving someone should never mean losing yourself and that being a good partner doesn’t require you to put your own happiness last. So choose yourself first. Choose your peace, your growth, your dreams and your happiness. Choose yourself even when you love someone deeply, even when walking away hurts and even when choosing yourself means disappointing someone else. Be selfish enough to protect your peace and love yourself wholeheartedly enough to never abandon yourself for someone else again.
