Leaning towards leaving Haaland out of my opening squad, though nothing is set in stone.
Here is the thinking 👇
• £15.5m puts serious pressure on a BB squad, especially with injury doubts around stronger enablers like Diego Gomez making budget even harder to navigate. BB is just so much stronger without him
• Only 53 minutes in the Shield. Fully expect him to start GW1 but completing 90 minutes looks unlikely at this stage
• Bruno faces Hull in GW1, who were second bottom for xGC in the Championship last season. Better (c) in isolation
• GW2 Bruno has Ipswich at home while Haaland has Palace away. Again difficult to justify for (c)
• If BB in GW1, I expect to play WC or FH fairly early anyway. Bringing Haaland back then is straightforward
• GW3 feels like a natural chip week regardless, with Arsenal vs Chelsea, City hosting Coventry and United’s fixtures stiffening.
• Players currently unavailable due to World Cup exertions will also be back in the picture by then, can WC/FH to bring them in
