If I say “I have a brain condition which affects my memory please be patient with me” people would understand and accommodate me.

Executive Dysfunction is broken up into 6 clusters: activation, focus, effort, emotion, memory, action
MANY people struggle with SOME of these clusters, but ADHD folks typically struggle with most - if not all 6 - clusters; they also have more severe impairments in EFs.
