A thought my husband expressed that may seem nuanced, but it’s not: Ryan Grubb is intent on calling plays in an effort to prove the system he used with DeBoer elsewhere will win titles in the SEC. He’s not focused on calling plays, or sequencing them, in ways that actually will work in the SEC, even given particular defenses. That his biggest obstacle is a stubborn arrogance trying to prove the SEC is not actually different / better than prior stops, that it’s just ball everywhere.
