Held my first ever Fireside chat with the Head of Forward Deployed Engineering (EMEA) at OpenAI. On Wednesday, I had the pleasure of hosting Eoin Boylan, in University College Cork for an fireside chat. We talked about Various topics including his role, FDE's, OpenAi, insights on OpenAis hiring procedures as well as his early startup career in Evervault. The crowd did not disappoint either, they came packed with curiosity and questions ranging from current hot topics to more generalized issues around Ai. In the End, I had the pleasure of awarding Eoin, an Honorary member award for his time, insights and contributions to the next generation of technologists and builders.

I Have decided to leave @heymoonshot When i joined there were 3 people in the discord group, The discord server was called opentrade, where we were making trading more accessible in the most brainrotted way (trade a brainrot, moon or goon..), and managed to scale to 225,000 users in 4 weeks. However at a certain point mid august none of us were really using the app ourselves, after a difficult decision, we decided to pivot to moonshot, the original idea our founders got into YC with, an personal proactive ai, that does stuff for you without asking. The team was locked in for the following few weeks preparing for the launch video, after multiple delays, we finally launched and managed to make one of the best launches on linkedin (1.2k+ likes , top 1%) and 400k+ views on twitter (<1%). My university started again (yes im just an college kid), i have to work on my final year project (drone detection using radio frequencies/ML/CV - dm me if this sounds interesting or related to what you do), Unfortunately i could not dedicate enough time to moonshot and have decided to step down. The growth curve for me over the past 3 months was exponential which wouldn't have been possible without moonshot. I wish @kidpakerot @ojaskandy @deftarioo luck with moonshot and hope they succeed.

is it just me or are founders not hiring based of cv anymore? I have been getting alot of dms and ppl attach their cvs, I just dont have time to read through them all. I just hire based on what you have done (with numbers) and what you can do for us (with numbers) and how fast you can do it. anyone else in the same boat?

wake up babe, 15 new sf-isms just dropped. 10 people recommended "non-technical" lol ty for the insane traction. follow @sf_isms for every new drop if you have more, a wrapper (sorry, agentic harness) auto-adds the ones that pass the bar at sfisms.org/pitch
TIL I learnt that "Non technical (slur)" is SF's joke that lacking engineering skill is a status insult. The phrase predates the meme, but 2025 posts from @zaygranet and @SimoneSyed pushed the local version wider. sfisms.org/non-technical-slu…

notetaking might be the most outdated thing still in daily use almost nobody reads them back. we keep them as insurance, just in case, so we can say we've got it somewhere
