Lowestoft’s Outer Harbour dates from 1850, built to serve fishing & shipping. The red vessel is the Kingsborg. Behind it stands Our Lady Star of the Sea, opened in 1902, the only purpose-built Catholic church designed by George & Reginald Baines. #Lowestoft #AerialPhotography

I wonder why people don’t use pot plants more frequently in this country especially those people who have not a large #garden and want to make use of every yard of space, easy to set a pot down on, giving little trouble apart from watering when the pots threaten to get dry.

Reconstruction mock-up of building of Jedburgh Abbey. An Augustinian house. King David I of Scots (1084-1153) founded a priory here in 1138 and raised it to abbey status in 1154. The brethren may have come here from St Quentin Abbey (France) #JedburghAbbey #HistoryRebuilt

On 29 May 1533, a flotilla of small boats escorted Queen Anne Boleyn on her journey of pomp and pageantry along the River Thames from Greenwich Palace to the Tower of London two days prior to her coronation at Westminster Abbey. At the end of the river procession, Anne Boleyn disembarked from these steps, known as Queen’s Stairs, from her barge and was welcomed by Henry VIII at the top of the stairs and escorted into the Byward Tower.

Trans activist at BoI wanted to make his/him views known about women's right to be published.
He was amazed that so many 'billionaire women' cared about 'who goes into toilets'.
He told this to a panel including @JoPhoenix1, @jo_bartosch and @WomenReadWomen.

One of the great innovations of English Common Law is the standard of ‘reasonableness’ - can you make reasonable context-dependent assessments? If so we will trust you enough to trust your discretion. Reasonableness now being replaced by lists of criteria is a major cultural loss
Replying to @maxtempers
We have reached the ridiculous situation that we have today by stripping discretion from every decision-making process in favour of supposedly “objective criteria” and extending sweeping “appeal rights” to everyone, including those beyond our shores.

Civil servants told: Don’t challenge trans women over female toilets
thetimes.com/article/99e1bba…
Any man using a toilet designated for women deserves to be challenged. He is clearly a man with no respect for the boundaries of women.
We can fully understand women being reticent to approach a man directly. However, management telling female staff they must tiptoe around men in their spaces is wrong. It enables the men.
No such concerns were shown for women by those in positions of power when men were wrongly told they could use women’s spaces. Workplace Regulations have always been clear about single sex provision.
It is high time leaders showed their support for their female staff and the law. No mealy mouthed wording and handwringing.

On the first Sunday of every month, our Old Market Square comes alive with a farmers’ and producers’ market. It’s been a tradition for years, and I wish every town had one. Good, honest food, grown and made by people who care, It keeps money in our communities, supports farming families and helps preserve a way of life worth keeping. And you might even have a lovely conversation over your shopping. @NoFarmsNoFoods @LichfieldCath @LichfieldLive
