So, I Shazamed the music at the Schiaparelli couture show, and this is what came up.
Honestly.

Americans were once members of a proudly literate society, but today, reading has declined across age groups, gender, and education levels. For The Atlantic’s August issue, @rosehorowitch explores the reading collapse—and its effects on civilization: theatln.tc/BYL9zqM8

Thank you to @_Stylion_ at @glossyco for the early look at Altina in this week's Luxury Briefing.
It captured something we've believed from the beginning:
“The next growth area is about making smart frames look normal.”

This feels very funny to me. The benefits of seeing a collection from a distance.
Funny how it’s not the writers who prefer AI…

An editor for a newspaper encouraging “removing writing from reporters’ workloads” should just resign
Imagine being a bright-eyed J-School grad eager to launch your reporting career, and the editor of Cleveland's metro daily puts you on blast for wanting to be a journalist instead of an AI content farmer. cleveland.com/news/2026/02/j…

We also need to holding content creators who plagiarize from journalists accountable
Very easy to regurgitate talking points: very difficult to do original reporting
Speaking as a reporter who writes on Substack, anyone who thinks individual newsletters are somehow a leaner version of a newsroom is clueless about how journalism works. Feature writing and investigative reporting are team sports. You need sharp editors and, in many cases, stiff-spined lawyers. It helps to have other reporters whose expertise and sources you can call upon, too.
You can do a lot to pump out scoops on your own — I regularly break stories on my Substack — but serious beat reporting requires a team.

More to the point, Substack also can't replace investigative reporting. It takes resources, time, and involves a tremendous amount of legal risk.

Really inspired by the Olivia Nuzzi case. I love the idea of having a whole successful career, to the point where losing it is a big spectacle, and still being only 32 years old. Could never happen in the UK. Here she'd still be turning press releases into news stories for Dazed.

A superb piece by @sarahrlnrd about the rise and fall of Teen Vogue. It really captures what made the publication unique and important—why its loss is so strongly felt by other journalists and its loyal readers. cjr.org/feature/the-tragic-l…
Wrote about the issues with LFW this time around- from Dilara Findikoglu and the unsafe overcrowding, to why international buyers and journalists are still struggling with access to shows and designers because of PR problems. glossy.co/fashion/luxury/ove…

🚨 BBC just dropped the diplomatic equivalent of a slap in the face: dissecting Trump’s entire unhinged UN rant line by line.

This is the most boring NYFW in recent memory.
Too many designers are making nice trousers and sort-of-interesting tops for upper-middle-class women on the go, who find meaning through owning a few vases interesting enough to be called “ceramics.”

If a media company wanted to hire @Emily_Sundberg at this point, it would have to match her annualized subs income with the salaries of … 3 senior writers? (2 if you’re the Atlantic)
Coach CEO Todd Kahn said to @glossyco the end of de minimis will add $53 million in duties next year.
“It’s real. It’s impactful.”
This is how Tapestry is planning to absorb a $160 million tariff hit, while still betting big on Gen Z growth.
