whenever someone brings up using AI for creative work, I think about this what we create also creates us

What's funny is that this chart shows that Halloween is the absolute safest day for child pedestrians. 30-50x safer. Literally 100x the number of normal child pedestrians are out, but there's (only) a doubling of deaths on that day, a difference of 1.5 kids nationwide.
every city should do this. Halloween is, by far, the most dangerous day of the year for child pedestrians. making streets car-free isn’t just a fun perk for trick-or-treating, it’s a critical life-saving transportation policy

hi I'm someone that is "still hand-crafting artisanal helper functions" because I'm good at what I do. good talk
I hate redditors so much it's unreal. If they think anyone is still hand-crafting artisanal helper functions they're so insanely out of the loop

games have too many complicated interdependencies! is AI getting better at coding? folks sure seem to think so, but my limited investigations still show me it's a hot mess when you need it for anything that isn't an infantile website or slop SV app.

so yeah, you can shortcut pong. or basic-ass user reg flows. but if you want to do anything of substance I hope you already know what you're doing because otherwise you're gonna fall flat like this guy. easy pitfall for folks who think they understand games but haven't made em

I wrote an article in defense of war markets. They've long been the most controversial offering from prediction market companies and appear quite likely to be legislated or regulated out of existence quite soon. Frankly, I think that might not be the best outcome for the public.

I'm laughing my ass off at everyone who said it couldn't possibly be true. As we saw with both the progressive "woke" boom and then the reactionary rise of the "alt-right", gamers are a bellwether for societal change and I think this is a huge deal.

hey @Fluttermind I can't get Moonring's follower system out of my head. rare to find a game that does NPC logic so frictionlessly. it inspired a whole project I'm working on! got any tricks or insights? I'm planning a GOAP system atm, but def open to simplifying
