I think this has to be my favourite photo, it was when I received the mayor's portrait. Very proud moment. #MayorOfTruro #ProudMoments #CelebrateMore
I'm a Lib Dem councillor, and I agree with every party some of the time. Even Reform. Their voters are feeling the same squeeze as the rest of us. Where I part company is the fixes, and whether anyone's checked the sums. Which party do you agree with more often than you'd admit?
You know the moment. Someone says something online and your chest tightens before you've finished reading it. That half second is most of the practice. Not stopping the feeling. Noticing it before it picks your reply for you.
Acceptance gets a terrible reputation because people confuse it with permission. I can accept that something is happening and still put everything I have into changing it.
You can care deeply about the world without giving every stranger on the internet control of your nervous system. Before you reply, ask: am I trying to help, or am I trying to win?
Is this really making the world safer?
We were told that about Iraq. Instead, war smashed a country, left a power vacuum – and out of that void, ISIS grew. #Irán
In the US, San Bernardino 2015: 14 killed at a work event.
Orlando 2016: 49 killed in a nightclub that was meant to be a safe place.
All linked back to ISIS – a monster that grew in the wreckage we helped create.

So when leaders talk about hitting Iran “to make the world safer”, we have to ask: safer for who?
Last time, the void we left didn’t bring peace. It brought Paris (130), Brussels (32), Nice (86), Manchester (22), San Bernardino (14), Orlando (49).

The BBC must balance their political news so it doesn’t boost Nigel Farage’s dangerous, divisive politics.

And this is why you cannot use private firms for such important work.

I wonder when the majority of Americans will realise the migrants were not the issue, and realise they were the solution to many of the problems.
Disability isn’t a scapegoat. Shameful to blame DEI & disabled people for tragedy—without evidence. Hypocrisy: “Unworthy” of benefits but “too risky” to employ? Using lives as political pawns is bigotry, not leadership. #DEI #DisabilityRights #TrumpisaNationalDisgrace
