#MeToo – at Westmont, PA
Saturday marks three years since a landmark grand jury report concluded the Catholic church covered up rampant sexual abuse in Pennsylvania for decades.
@NikkiBattiste checked back in with survivors she first spoke to in 2018, who say little progress has been made.
Take a break from all of the political bullshit for two minutes and giggle at this chipmunk absolutely housing some cherries. 🐿️🍒😁❤️

A Life Perspective
Many of you have followed the story of our resident rabbit, born in our carrot bin last spring and now raising a family beneath the flowers outside our patio window.
A few days ago, I watched her give birth. Within the first hour, a small predator—what we now believe was a shrew—found the nest. One kit was dragged away and injured. D’Arcy and I returned it to the nest area and hoped for the best. We even watched Mom carefully tend its wounds.
Today, some of that uncertainty came to an end. I witnessed Mom remove a deceased kit from the nest. We now know that at least one baby did not survive.
And yet, the story is not over.
Mom continues to tend the nest. We do not know whether any kits remain alive beneath the fur and grass, but there are enough signs to keep hope alive.
Life, it seems, does not spend much time looking backward. For rabbits, anyway.
People are often different. Many of us spend years looking backward—not because we want to live there, but because understanding where we’ve been is often part of finding our way forward.
Maybe that’s why so many of us became attached to a rabbit.
Because this story was never really about a rabbit.
It’s about resilience.
It’s about loss.
It’s about hope.
And it’s about continuing forward anyway.
🐇❤️

“The message to abuse survivors is to expect the status quo: a church that shields offenders, refuses to discipline bishops who facilitate abuse by keeping rapists and abusers in power, and will use every tool at their disposal to preserve this system.” snapnetwork.org/snap_to_pope…

Hate to inform you @united, but this is not a window seat. I can remember the days when the windows and rows of seats aligned. Not with today’s corporate greed, but hey I have that great United credit card so it’s cool to be uncomfortable in my extra legroom seat w/no window.
Please help this real life David and Goliath battle!
One side claims to be the higher moral authority while covering up for and harboring child rapists.
The other side fights to protect future generations of children from being harmed.

Here is a meaningful conversation that I had with an Italian Newsroom. It would be difficult for any reasonable person to disagree with what I had to say.

Our @SNAPNetwork Global Policy Working Group Chair @peterisely doing tremendous work while in Rome.
This is a remarkable exchange between Peter and the editor of @NCRonline
I may be biased but Peter won this exchange.

So change.org phoned me yesterday to inform SNAP that they’d like to help get the zero tolerance law some traction.
If you would like the next Pope to implement a zero tolerance law that would help to prevent the cover up of child sexual abuse within the church please sign our petition. Thank You

“Everyone who is online is potentially influential (or thinks they are), yet some outsized voices really do have an impact and are trying influence the election of the next pope” commonwealmagazine.org/concl…
Keep a watchful eye on #ConclaveWatch if you think that the next Pope shouldn’t have a record for covering up childhood sexual abuse.

Call your Bishop and Cardinal and tell them that the next Pope can’t be tainted by the Abuse scandal.
The next Pope should protect children not predator Priests!
