Rich people pay for expensive gyms and services not because they're dumb, but because they don't want to be around regular people.
Price is a simple filtering mechanism.

There’s a reason why they call the MBA, the divorce degree. Beyond the high stress and less time spent at home, there’s also the element of suddenly connecting with someone that relates to your struggles better than you partner because you’re on the same boat.

I’ve probably said this before and I’ll say it again. In every social group with adults that have common interests, such may happen. It’s up to you to decide what you want out of that setting. Churches, MBA, the workplace, kids schools etc. It’s not unique to running clubs.

As a civil engineer, this is the most dangerous road you can drive on.
🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia's Highway 10 stretches 256 kilometers without curves.
It's considered the longest straight road in the world.

ALT Highway 10 in Saudi Arabia, originally a private road for King Fahd, is the world’s longest straight road, stretching over 250 kilometers through the Rub' al Khali desert. It connects the Haradh oil fields to the UAE border, cutting through the "Empty Quarter" without a single turn due to the flat, barren landscape. While a record-breaking feat of engineering, the featureless desert and extreme straightness make it notorious for inducing "highway hypnosis" in drivers.
