Taiwo Oyedele denies saying FG will introduce fuel tax — despite video evidence Taiwo Oyedele, minister of finance and coordinating minister of the economy, has denied saying the federal government will introduce a fuel tax when the economy stabilises and income levels improve. In a post on X on Tuesday, Oyedele said his remarks during an interview with ARISE News had been misrepresented, insisting that a “fuel tax is not on the table”. thecable.ng/taiwo-oyedele-de…

“Abiola was thrown in jail because he illegally & undemocratically declared himself the president of Nigeria.” -- segun showunmi @SegunShowunmi
MY SCAR FROM MKO ABIOLA, MY SACRIFICE FOR DEMOCRACY, AND MY UNWAVERING PAN-NIGERIAN CONVICTION. The scar in my heart from the loss of Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola has not fully healed. His death and the circumstances surrounding the struggle for the actualisation of the June 12 mandate left an indelible mark on my life. I have therefore neither anything to prove about my sacrifices for Nigeria nor any reason to pretend that I do not understand the cost of the democratic journey we have travelled. I will neither make light of MKO Abiola’s grave sacrifice nor allow anyone to distort my words or misrepresent my intentions. Let me restate what I said. None of the contestants, particularly those threatening to release unverified election results in circumstances that could plunge the country into chaos, should be encouraged to take any action that could bring them into conflict with the law or endanger our national stability. I invoked the events of 1992 to illustrate how political situations can spiral out of control when caution, restraint and respect for the law are abandoned. Students of history understand the point I was making. I stand by that argument. My intervention was a warning about consequences, not an invitation to recklessness, and I will not permit reactionary forces to turn my counsel into something it was never intended to be. There is an ancient Yoruba saying that captures this sentiment: “Tí mo bá gbà ẹ ní àmọ̀ràn mi, kò fẹ́ kó gbọ́; nítorí tí kò bá gbọ́, báwo ni màá ṣe jẹ́ ìfààrà rẹ̀, tí wá fi gbà mí ní ọlọ́gbọ́n?” Loosely interpreted, it means: Sometimes, when I give you advice, you refuse to listen. But when the consequences arrive, you will remember that I warned you, and that will be the proof of my wisdom. My duty is to offer counsel in the interest of our country. Whether people choose to heed it is another matter. I must also state, unequivocally, that I am a Pan-Nigerian through and through. I have no interest in promoting the idea that one ethnic group is superior to another. My commitment is to Nigeria and to the collective dignity, security and prosperity of all Nigerians. Those who describe themselves as Yoruba activists should take particular note. My words and actions must be understood within the framework of my commitment to the Nigerian nation. I will not subordinate that commitment to ethnic sentiment, sectional advantage or the politics of exclusion. To Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola, Omo Aja Dudu Ile Ido, tí kò gbọ́dọ̀ buni jẹ́ . A son whose memory remains inseparable from our democratic struggle. Orun ire o! May your supreme sacrifice continue to guide Nigeria towards a more stable, just and enduring democracy. May the promise for which you paid such a terrible price never be betrayed. I have long expressed the view that Nigeria should manage political power through a pendulum arrangement between the Northern and Southern parts of the country. In my considered opinion, a predictable and mutually respected understanding of power rotation offers a framework for reducing suspicion, strengthening national cohesion and sustaining our democratic journey. It is a position I hold in the interest of a country that must learn to manage its diversity with maturity. One day, God willing, I will speak more fully about my own contributions to the struggle for democracy. I will explain how the critical events surrounding MKO Abiola shaped my thinking and redirected my political journey, setting in motion a chain of events whose consequences have continued to unfold. I must also acknowledge Dele Momodu. May God spare his life. He played a key and pivotal role in that chapter of our history, and his contribution deserves to be remembered.

To the Yorugbas, especially the yorugba actors in Nollywood. Stop disgracing Nigeria.
2027 Presidential Election: “This Video Is Directed At Yoruba Nollywood, Specifically The Actors And Actresses Who Make Yoruba Movies. And By The Way, I’m About To Disrespect You In This Video. You Guys Are Drinking Something That Is Messing With Your Brains. You’re The Most Ignorant Bunch I Have Ever Seen. You Have Campaigned For Tinubu Time And Time Again, And He Has Shown You That He’s a Constant Failure And a Disgrace. Yet, You People Will Still Come Online To Gaslight Us Into Believing That The Country Is Doing Well Under Tinubu. But The Moment You Have A Little Health Problem, You Start Begging Nigerians Online For Financial Support To Travel Abroad For Treatment.” ~ Veedeebee

Na the people wey their culture na aggressive begging dey twist your words
MY MESSAGE HAS BEEN TWISTED Even though my media office has issued a responsible clarification on the situation, I still find it necessary to add my voice to address the distortion of my message by political opponents. I deeply appreciate Nigerians in the diaspora who work tirelessly and make enormous sacrifices to support their families back home. Their remittances pay for school fees, hospital bills, rent, and feeding expenses. Their patriotism and sacrifices deserve our profound respect. I never asked them to abandon their loved ones. My concern is that Nigeria should not remain a country where millions depend on relatives abroad for basic survival. Our goal must be to build a nation that provides jobs, affordable healthcare, quality education, and economic opportunities for its citizens. Political opponents may twist my message, but the truth remains clear: I am not asking Nigerians abroad to abandon their families. I am advocating for a Nigeria that will no longer abandon its own people. God bless Nigerians at home and abroad. God bless Nigeria. -PO

U vile creature, let me leave what u said here so everyone can see it. No words succinctly describes the type of evil that flows through u. Ur fake chatgpt apology is NOT accepted. Using ur fellow woman's pain to hustle Elon money 💰 Own ur wickedness, it's already part of u.
I want to sincerely apologize to the lady I made an insensitive comment about. What I said about her scars and the comment about men asking if she had “sucked a roasted breast” was disrespectful, hurtful, and completely uncalled for. Regardless of the circumstances, nobody deserves to be body-shamed or made to feel less beautiful because of their scars or physical appearance. My words were wrong, and I take full responsibility for them. I understand that words can leave wounds that are not always visible, and I deeply regret using mine to hurt someone. She did not deserve that treatment, and I am truly sorry for the embarrassment and pain I may have caused her. I am not making this apology to defend myself or seek sympathy. I am making it because I recognize that I was wrong, and I owe her a public apology. To her, I am genuinely sorry. You deserved respect, and I failed to show you that. I hope my apology can be the beginning of making things right. ❤️

For those ones in doubt You can check for confirmation on @inecnigeria’s website
This woman here is Oluyemi Titilayo Adeyemi-Showunmi. She is the wife of Segun Showunmi @SegunShowunmi She was newly appointed by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the Director of Electoral Operations at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). You can now know the reason why Segun Showunmi is all out attacking and threatening Nigerians with treason for demanding electoral fairness and credible elections in 2027. Truly, Segun Showunmi has collected rice. What other evidence do you need? PURE CONFLICT OF INTEREST Nigerians must defend their votes by all necessary means necessarily and at whatever cost. I challenge Segun Showunmi to deny this.
