Sometimes if they get too into niche pop culture or sports stuff I’m like ugh I wish they’d ask more history and politics questions before immediately remembering why they wouldn’t do that

I know I'm a broken record on this but his S4 performance is an all-timer of moral grey, just incredibly heart-breaking self-destruction, eric tao you got me like don draper (i.e., forever)
Been rewatching Industry and it’s amazing how good Leung is from the beginning of the show. “I GO TO BED WITH THAT NUMBER!” line reading is literally electric. Him vs Daria — what a rivalry.

Wanna know something I think would be crazy? It would be crazy if XX-XY Athletics, the apparel firm stoking outrage against the WNBA, had a secret, Koch brothers-aligned, oil rich family fortune behind it. But that would be crazy, right???

So neat! Here's D.C.
Blue dots represent pictures taken by locals. Red dots are pictures taken by tourists. Yellow dots might be by either. Fascinating from Erica Fischer.

It’s not stupidity. Any person on the planet can be an American. When abroad, the American simply sees other potential Americans. We never feel like we’re somewhere foreign. If I’m surrounded by Chinese people I could just as easily be in Flushing as Beijing.
Airports have the US flag cos too many Americans didn't know they were the foreigners when at passport control. It's not importance, it's catering to your stupidity.

Reporting from the Financial Times on Xinjiang remains incredibly grim: * In some areas, 90% of children are taken from parents to be educated in boarding schools where they aren't allowed to speak Uyghur * Officials monitor who eats during Ramadan and report those who skip meals * Basic items like prayer mats and religious text are considered illegal contraband * Adult Uyghur women are pressured to marry Han Chinese men, and there are official goals to sterilize a certain % of them. * Xinjiang has the largest prison capacity in the world relative to population * Huge numbers of Uyghur prisoners are now being shipped across the country in forced labor schemes, as a way to dodge Xinjiang sanctions/boycotts * The CCP shut down all 10 existing Uyghur-language publishers, none remain. They fed one university's book collection into a shredder. There's a lot going on the world, but it's worth remembering that China is still actively engaged in cultural genocide. They're barely even hiding it, they openly talk about the need to 'correct' Uyghur culture and create 'ethnic unity'. They are openly destroying an entire culture as efficiently as they can, cutting children off from parents, restricting language, restricting religious practice, forcing sterilizations and intermarriage, imprisoning anyone who resists the tiniest amount and shipping them out to forced labor factories. That is what the CCP is. ft.com/content/119d8c3a-e10f…

Metro has 30K+ cameras and combined with our great @MetroTransitPD team crime is at a record low. If someone commits crime on Metro the team will identify them and they will get arrested. The safety of our customers & staff is our core value.

There aren't enough good things I could say about Kalel Mullings He has done so many things for Michigan over his career and capped it with an improbable, game-breaking run to beat Ohio State
