We did this on Manchester United and Kieran McKenna at the start of the month…
I’m a fan of his football. Inexperienced, yes, but a very talented coach. He knows #MUFC so well. I believe in his huge potential.
He’d be a breath of fresh air at Old Trafford. He’s exactly the type of personality INEOS like in an individual & leader.
Kieran McKenna should definitely be considered for the Manchester United job if Sir Jim Ratcliffe & INEOS lose faith in Erik ten Hag.
On a recent @tplmufc, we explained why the Ipswich Town boss could be the answer for Dan Ashworth & Jason Wilcox over a more established name.

If you missed LIVE TPL straight after #MUNARS, watch on playback now.
A 1-0 victory for Arsenal didn’t tell the whole story. Despite a lack of attacking quality, #MUFC were compact and competent in a 4231.
It was a much better Manchester United shape and gameplan than we’ve seen for months! The midfield was solid. Amad Diallo & Sofyan Amrabat helped the team.
On @tplmufc, we challenge Erik ten Hag and ask:
WHY?
How have United not set up to keep the ball this season but can do these vital functions vs a title contender when Top 4 has evaporated?
Make it make sense.

Will United typically turn up against a superior opponent and blast them off the Old Trafford pitch? Or will the Gunners prolong their title ambitions with a win over Erik ten Hag’s madcap Reds?
Zero pressure on United today. It’s up to the visitors to get what they need.

I think Erik ten Hag has told INEOS: 'My tactics aren’t the issue, it’s the players'…
On new @tplmufc, I explain why the Manchester United coach is half right. If Dan Ashworth and Jason Wilcox agree with him, there’s the possibility he gets to start next season firmly in control of the #MUFC team.
Omar Berrada will soon be in the building and Sir Jim
Ratcliffe has already sanctioned spending for the squad.
If they find 5 or 6 players for their project, there’s a chance Erik ten Hag gets a pre-season & 3-6 months to prove his worth and his counterpress ideology.
Can chaos blossom into a technical-football outfit?
Are coaches like Graham Potter, Thomas Tuchel and Gareth Southgate really better than ETH? Could United turn to Sir Jim’s very good friend Jose Mourinho?
Also, was Jamie Carragher’s assessment of Casemiro fair? We defend the Brazilian & explain why he’s being asked to do way too much.
Join us for a summer-day chatty TPL. We calmly discuss why we think ETH might NOT be finished at Old Trafford.
Tell us your thoughts ahead of #MUNARS.
Also, are United going to do the most United thing ever by ruining Arsenal’s season? @__scottsaunders thinks maybe so!

Has Erik ten Hag cut a deal with INEOS to remain at Manchester United?
On new @tplmufc, we discuss the reasons ETH might be confident of keeping his job after a season to forget. What has been said between the #MUFC manager & the new board?
@__scottsaunders & I discuss the baffling reasons ETH has stuck with tactics that don’t suit his squad - Is this a sign of confidence & a power-play after his meetings with Jason Wilcox & Sir Dave Brailsford?
What guarantees have they given the under-fire boss?
Also, more on Graham Potter & Thomas Tuchel. We also state why we don’t want to see Gareth Southgate as the next United coach.

New post-Crystal Palace @tplmufc will not be a shout fest. It’s not going to be tears and tantrums. We will try to do what we always do: calmly evaluate the club we support & love: Manchester United.
And this #MUFC show will be a message of hope.
How can we have hope after a 4-0 and one of the worst campaigns in memory?
Well, two things:
1) Those fans that sang for our team during every minute of humiliation at Selhurst & 2) the bloke who just bought a chunk of the club and walked in the door.
The adults are now in the room at United. This season is going to motivate radical change in the bricks and mortar of this great football club. The Glazer fingerprints will be rubbed off the door handles.
We’ll never die. United will be back. It’s going to be a long and winding road, but the reset button is being pressed like never before.
Buckle up for the ride. All we have to do is sing for this team. Don’t embrace the social media vacuum of hate that wants your anger & fear. United doesn’t need to ruin your life.
Join @__scottsaunders & I for some football therapy ahead of #MUNARS. It’s now up to Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS to make the right decisions. Erik ten Hag and the players will have no choice but to listen to Omar Berrada, Dan Ashworth & Jason Wilcox…
…they’ve not come to United to sell shirts. They’re here to win. And we’ll still be singing: win, lose or draw.

What Kieran McKenna has achieved at #ITFC is not a miracle; it’s down to hard work, meticulous planning, backing from a good CEO and board, shrewd recruitment including loans, not getting carried away, and staying focused. It’s down to having an ego-free manager who treats players as human beings and knows how to get the best out of them emotionally and tactically. And they play terrific football.
Been fortunate to interview McKenna twice over the past two promotion seasons and he has this quiet authority. Very likeable, very focused and now very @premierleague. Congratulations to all at Ipswich Town. They’ve had some special managers in the past. And McKenna’s rising fast. Btw Premier League fixtures announced June 18.

Kieran McKenna. Supposedly the PE teacher’s hapless assistant. Turns out he’s a brilliant coach. Promoted twice and there’ll be a lot of clubs interested in his services.

THE BIG ERIK TEN HAG INTERVIEW:
On new @tplmufc, we analyse every word of Gary Neville’s excellent conversation with Erik ten Hag.
The Manchester United boss reveals:
- He wanted to sign Harry Kane and Frenkie de Jong.
- He believes his principles & tactics are working.
- He thinks the injuries are “bad luck.”
- Speaks about the negativity facing his #MUFC team.
- His future working with INEOS.
@__scottsaunders & I dig deep into all the detail. Is this a coach with conviction in his methods or suffering delusion about the state of his team?
Will Sir Jim Ratcliffe, Omar Barreda, Dan Ashworth & Jason Wilcox back ETH into a new campaign?
Also, Jadon Sancho’s performance in the #UCL has fuelled talk of a return to United. Will the club use his improving form as a way to move him out the club when the transfer window opens?
Please watch the show and tell us your thoughts on ETH.

Is the Manchester United squad up for sale?
On the latest @tplmufc, we explain INEOS ‘s ideas for the summer transfer window & how Dan Ashworth & Jason Wilcox will turbo-charge @MUFC change after a season to forget.
@__scottsaunders & I look at how new wage-cap rules for the Premier League could positively-impact United, despite voting against the proposal.
We also appraise three centrebacks who could arrive at Old Trafford in the weeks ahead:
- Former Man City starlet Tosin Adarabioyo, currently experiencing a breakout season with Fulham but on his way out of the club as a free agent.
- Long-term INEOS & Nice owned target Jean-Clair Todibo.
- Wolves captain Max Kilman - ready for a step up in his career.
With Varane & Lindelof potentially heading towards the exit, United could grab 2 of these 3 for a bargain £40m. £80m would get all 3.
Good value or not good enough?
Branthwaite will be valued around £80m come the summer. Could Harry Maguire be retained on reduced-terms as a squad-piece?
We explain our thoughts on squad-building & the opportunity to play Lisandro Martinez as the 6 next season. Has Erik ten Hag missed a trick by not playing The Butcher at the base of the midfield when he’s been fit?
Licha: 6, Kobbie Mainoo: 8, Bruno Fernandes: 10?
New TPL every Tuesday & Friday. Please subscribe & share with your United friends.

Tosin Adarabioyo has been excellent for Fulham and will leave on a free in the summer. Manchester United, Dan Ashworth, Jason Wilcox & INEOS should consider bringing the Mancunian home. 26 years old, 6’ 5" & a versatile defender. A solid first piece to rebuild the #MUFC defence? What’s your thoughts? We will discuss this on Tuesday’s @tplmufc.

Tactically speaking, I think this is the worst Manchester United team since Sir Alex Ferguson walked out the door. From my elevated view at Old Trafford you can see the shape and the plan. It’s not good.
Pumping long balls from Andre Onana and defenders over the top of the opposition, looking for the second ball to drop to you that never seems to come. It’s something I’ve seen plenty of in the lower leagues, but not the modern Premier League.
The players are poor but it feels like they are currently set up to fail. I’ve no idea what they all do at Carrington in training.
Every match feels like one day closer to the end of Erik ten Hag’s #MUFC tenure. Today, despite inferior talent, you could see Kompany & Burnley had some level of identity.
United’s identity is chaos and dysfunction. Thankfully, this campaign will soon be over and INEOS can get on with the rebuild they’re desperate to trigger.
Horrible football. Horrible football team. #MUNBUR

Another day at Manchester United…
Social media once again takes centre-stage after Marcus Rashford quote-tweeted about suffering abuse.
On @tplmufc, we attempted to explore the difference between valid football criticism and outright anger & abusive intentions. Who is to blame for this culture of fear & loathing? Is Rashy fuelling a fire he should avoid?
We also look at the enigma that is Bruno Fernandes. On the show, I implore #MUFC to keep the club captain in the No.10 & built the attack around his best characteristics as a player ahead of #MUNBUR.
Also, the latest on Dan Ashworth & Newcastle, and Jason Wilcox’s first days in the building as Technical Director. United definitely attempted to play more possession vs Sheff Utd. Is this down to Wilcox?
Tell us your thoughts on the expected return of Anthony Martial to Erik ten Hag’s squad! Can he help United beat the odds to lift the #FACup against Man City? Could it be the perfect goodbye from the outgoing Frenchman?
