Meet Mistral Large 4, aka Le Chonk.
• 1T parameters, natively multimodal. 49B active.
It is the best open weights model from US or Europe on aggregated benchmarks.
• State-of-the-art on critical workloads, including cyber defense, manufacturing and finance and it surpasses closed frontier models on visual grounding.
• Forged in Europe end-to-end and is deployable from Europe via our own Mistral Cloud infrastructure.
• Available to all via API today. Working with cybersecurity partners privately.
Open weights release end of October.

A new @datadoghq feature my team and I have worked on has officially gone live (public beta) now:
Watchdog Insights for Continuous Profiler 🎉
The idea is to automate some of the problem analysis and solution proposal a profiling expert on your team might provide.

17 years of software development taught me three very important lessons;
1️⃣ Unit and integration tests are the best way to prevent bugs.
2️⃣ Keep it simple! Remove anything that's not strictly required.
3️⃣ Question everything! From requirements to cargo cult tech trends.

Today I published a (long-overdue!) collection of status badge-related resources which I've collected over four years working on @Shields_io. Any great additions I should consider? github.com/badges/awesome-ba…

VideoLAN is 20 years old today!
In fact, 20 years ago today, VideoLAN moved from a closed-source student app to the GNU GPL, thanks to the authorization of the @centralesupelec director of that time.
VLC has grown a lot since, thanks to 1000 volunteers!

Android users on versions before 7.1 - take note! We are switching to a new intermediate cert on January 11. You can still visit any website using Let’s Encrypt certs, but if you want to get past any warnings, use @Firefox’s mobile browser. mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/mo…

Notice anything different since Sunday? We've migrated the service to @heroku, and it's blazingly fast! Thanks a ton for their support! 🙏

I can't believe it, but three years in and finally posted a proposal to move @Shields_io to @heroku.
It's been lots of consideration and technical work to get here. (The last step was gathering metrics from unaddressable dynos!)
So excited it's time!

We've just published an important security fix for self-hosting users. If you host your own instance of Shields, upgrade now. Users of shields.io are unaffected. If you know of anyone self-hosting Shields, please spread the word!

Our CLI tool can generate badges in raster format (PNG/JPG/GIF) rather than the traditional SVG. We are considering either dropping support or adding it to our NPM package (github.com/badges/shields/is…). Does anyone actually use this feature? 👀
57%No, you can drop support
43%Yes, add to NPM package

We now support badges for #GitHub Actions, allowing you to display the status of your workflows (e.g. img.shields.io/github/workfl…). Thanks calebcartwright for the implementation! Don't waste a minute, start adding them to your Readmes! 🚀
