That Matthews shot has me feeling all sorts of things. Let’s hope we see a lot more of it this year.
Leafs look way faster than they have at any point in the last couple of years. Love the way they’re playing with pace in this one.
McKenna can move, open up passing lanes with his skating and shiftiness and can put it right on the tape from seemingly anywhere on the ice.
Goal doesn’t happen without the Tavares forecheck. Ol’ 91 still knows how to work it down low along the boards.
Vladdy must’ve went to the Mitch Marner school of PR. Man what an awful quote to put out there coming off of a catastrophic season for him in the first year of a deal where he’s the third highest paid player in the sport. Just own it and take some accountability. Oof.

Rielly’s definitely been a very frustrating guy to watch in recent years but he always comes off as genuine and accountable when speaking publicly which many guys on this team haven’t been. Hopefully this can be a bounce back season for him.

Obviously he’s still very young and has a lot to learn but I like what I’ve seen from McKenna so far. He’s a good skater and pretty shifty and he’s definitely got the vision. Definitely would like to see him on PP1 over Roslovic already.
That Raddysh goal from the point was one of the luckiest series of bounces you’ll ever see but he still got a lot on that shot initially. Good to have a bomb from there on the power play finally.
That little speed burst from Matthews is pretty encouraging. Haven’t seen that a lot over the last couple of years.
I’m completely stoked about this game tonight. It’s insane how much change and an injection of an elite, young talent can do for morale amongst the fanbase. Looking forward to seeing McKenna, Bob and what some of these line combinations and power play units look like.

Great to hear after a very injury plagued year for him last year. A lot of the Leafs’ struggles defensively last year had to do with missing his ability to retrieve pucks and move it up ice quickly. They’re going to need him.
John Chayka says Chris Tanev is cleared to play. Says he's as healthy as anybody.
