Retiring/taking a step back from coaching
Thank you to everyone that has ever worked with me or was just supporting me, it meant more than you can believe. β€οΈ
This just goes on to show how people are disconnected from modern football and the way academy works...
You're playing on a full sized pitch starting from U11s.
Nowadays, even 3rd tier clubs have cameras that stream the games so coaches can look at the footage
100%. Yamal has 25 G/A in 17 games for club and country and had one of the greatest starts in football history and the fanbase is acting like he's not focused on football.
Bad games happens, sucks when it's the most important game of the season (so far), but we're in October.
Simplest explanation for this is just how "easy" it is to defend and connect with each other both in and out of possession.
Some coaches take it to another level and that's why you have relationism.
Distances matter more when talent is on a similar level (UCL + top 5 leagues)
Being a trainee in a European Parliament for a month and a half still feels surreal.
Very grateful for the opportunity given by @TomislavSokol and his staff for teaching me about EU politics and the way that it functions.
Back to reality tomorrow.
What a phenomenal book @Jon_Mackenzie !!! I have thoroughly enjoyed reading it and I love how much you can feel that the book has been written with a lot of thought and passion.
Props to you and the people behind you who supported you and helped along this way. Recommended 10/10
One of the biggest indicators of truly elite teams is being able to suffer when you face an opposition of similar level.
City just didn't show up, PSG are slicing them apart with ease, everything is clicking for them it's incredible to see.
The PL has become very weird to watch for me. It's very direct and physical but not a lot of technicality or elite finishing barring few exceptions.
Liverpool City was the perfect example of that up until the RC - lots of duels, directness, not many touches in the midfield
But that's what happens when you prioritize duelling and ball carrying and verticality.
Granted, the way the game is evolving it makes sense.
That is why when you manage to combine technicality and strong physical presence, you get Rodri who is a literal unicorn
We are outplaying the world champions and the best NT in the world BY FAR after getting beaten 7-0 just 3 days earlier...
Football is a funny sport
First half they were solid due to them pressing well, but the attack was so abysmal and no one was ready to do anything all the way untill Diomande came on.
They did play last 20 mins well with a man down, but huge challenges are in front of them with -6 ahead of int. break.
Rodri is a colossal player. The amount of stability he brings in as 6 who can cover a lot of ground and recognises key situations.
Literal coach on the field, it's beautiful watching him play football.
Mourinhos' biggest challenge will most definitely be how to win the ball consistently when 2 of your players aren't pressing well and aren't showing much intention to do so.
1 good vertical pass/ball carrying and you're already in between 1st and 2nd line of the defense
Better teams will play through them extremely well. Inter did it so many many times but they weren't good enough in and around the box.
What happens when you face a team that has a great build up/lots of verticality that can finish their chances consistently?
You'll end up in
