The Democratic Republic of the Congo is in grave danger. The former president has officially become a rebel. He has turned against the country he led for 18 years. We call on all Africans to stand for peace in Congo. @_PASNET @AfricansRising @SHUJAAInitiati2

Today, October 15, marks four months since Erias Lukwago, Kampala’s former Lord Mayor, was abducted from his home in Wakaliga on June 15, 2026. Armed security operatives scaled his perimeter wall and took him away. He was held incommunicado until Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the Chief of Defence Forces, acknowledged military custody on social media, publishing images of a blindfolded Lukwago and threatening to inflict pain on him. Lukwago was later transferred to civilian custody and charged with misprision of treason under Section 25 of the Penal Code Act. The prosecution alleges he knew of a treasonous plot involving clients he represented, including Dr Kizza Besigye. Four months later, Lukwago remains detained, and his trial has yet to commence. His legal team’s bail applications have been unsuccessful, while concerns persist about his health and access to specialised spinal treatment recommended by medical specialists at Mulago National Referral Hospital. #FreeAllPoliticalPrisonersUg

We must fight hard and break those walls of dictators and free our selves
We should be reminded that the prison cell in Luzira or anywhere in Uganda, the dungeon in Dar es Salaam or the illegal safe house in Nairobi are all part of the same wall, the wall built and used by those who fear the power of the people. #FreeAllPoliticalPrisoners #AfricaUnite #PASNet

#FreeCongo 🇨🇩 Congo’s children, women, and men endure exploitation, forced labor, and brutal violence as armed groups seize communities and mines. Centuries of plunder continue. When will Congo be free, and its wealth benefit its people? Congo is bleeding. #CongoIsBleeding 💔

Congratulations to Navi Pillay, the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize laureate! Navi Pillay's commitment to international law, unwavering independence and guiding moral light have made her one of the most respected human rights figures of our time. Not only does this award honour an extraordinary individual, it comes at a time when everything Navi Pillay stands for is coming under increasing attack, as powerful states attempt to hollow out the rule of law and jettison fundamental international rules and norms. Here’s the moment she learned the news, captured yesterday morning at the Nuremberg court by Amnesty International’s Secretary General Agnès Callamard. – at Zimbabwe

1/3 Before my arrest and detention from Monday to Wednesday, my family and I received these chilling death threats from individuals who identified themselves as members of the state security apparatus. The number +263 771 345 785 called me and sent text messages threatening to kill me if I continued participating in CDF activities and organising Sungano YeVanhu activities, including the prayer meeting for Justice, Peace and Prosperity in Zimbabwe. Just a few hours after the calls and messages, a ferret squad of seven armed men once again descended on my family’s homestead. This was their fifth visit to the property, where I lived while attending high school. Their mission was to harass, intimidate and terrorise my relatives. They subjected my cousin and aunt to threats of death and arson, inflicting fear and psychological torture and distress on members of my family. Imagine living in a country where organising for a prayer meeting becomes grounds for intimidation, persecution and threats to one's life. It is a damning indictment of a regime that claims to uphold peace while weaponising state security institutions against citizens who dare to demand justice, peace and prosperity. In Zimbabwe, we are treated as second-class citizens and branded as terrorists & threats simply for exercising our fundamental freedoms and organising for democratic change. Yet, we refuse to be intimidated into silence. We understand the price of resistance, and we know that the struggle for freedom demands courage, sacrifice and an unwavering commitment to justice. The threats directed at us and our families will not extinguish our determination to fight for a free, democratic and prosperous Zimbabwe. The oppressive regime in Harare must be reminded of the immortal words of Frantz Fanon: “When we revolt it's not for a particular culture. We revolt simply because, for many reasons, we can no longer breathe!” We can no longer breathe under oppression. We can no longer remain silent in the face of injustice. And we will not surrender our struggle for freedom. In the name of the people-until victory always! #Aluta✊️

The case of a maimed Mugumya shown on the verge of death is still not urgent enough for our dear @JudiciaryUG. And it has been postponed to over a month from now!
From denials even when many Ugandas saw the military abduct him in broad day light, to allegations by the army mouthpiece that he had disappeared back to DRC (where he hadn’t “disappeared” to in the first place), to failure by the Judiciary to protect Mugumya’s rights, to threats against those that shared videos his maimed self, to dismissals of the videos as concoctions and rubbish, to outright admission by the CDF to the illegal detention and torture of Sam Mugumya. Let’s wait and see how @JudiciaryUG will handle this issue once again tomorrow. #FreeSamMugumya #JusticeForSamMugumya
