Why blast.fun's presale model is bad for Sui
1. Instant dump: buyers have no vesting, so everyone can sell the second the pool opens.
2. Can list below the presale price, so presale buyers can start at a loss.
3. Whales win: oversubscribed = pro-rata, plus an uncapped phase.
⚠️An insider can commit 5K SUI with almost no risk, because whatever isn't filled gets refunded. They walk away with much more supply than a normal user who put in 100 SUI, and the regular buyers end up with crumbs.
The uncapped phase makes it worse because it removes the per-wallet limits completely⚠️
4. Allowlists = insiders/KOLs get guaranteed spots first.
Example:
$CAT presale, raise target 10K SUI, allowlist only
- The team builds the list: 25 KOLs, 10 friends, and 15 wallets they control themselves. That's 50 wallets, each capped at 200 SUI.
- Those 50 wallets fill the full 10K SUI. The public can't commit at all because their wallets aren't on the list.
- The pool opens. The public buys on the DEX, which pushes the price up.
- The 50 insiders all received their tokens at the same moment, at the presale price, with no vesting. They sell into the public's buys.
(insiders got in at the cheapest price there will ever be, and the public is their exit liquidity.
Nobody outside can even see who is on the list, because only a fingerprint of the list goes on-chain.
