Since misogyny is mainstream in fitness, I figured I’d share the results of a 2025 systematic review (29 studies) on muscle differences between men and women. Bottom line: Men and women make the same relative gains in muscle mass from lifting weights. Yes, men start out with more muscle mass, but with training, women gain the same % of muscle mass as men relative to their baseline. This means that both men and women can train similarly and expect similar relative gains.
