This proposed plan is absolutely unacceptable.
Here’s what the plan actually does: 36 holes of public golf cut to 18. No more mini golf. No more park. More running / cycling road. No more playground. No more introductory course. Nobody has said a word about the Cherry blossoms.
Who is this actually for? Not the kid learning to golf. Not the family in a walk. Not the birders.
This was never about the public. It’s for the elitists who want a private showcase, and one man’s ego.

You have got to be f**king kidding me… an 18 hole golf course that fully absorbs the entirety of Hains Point. Disgusting and shameful acts by Department of Interior.
We have been saying this for MONTHS.

Public park access in the nations capital being removed in favor of private golf space is really vile.

Parking tickets (and any vehicle tickets) are very easy to avoid!
Don’t want parking tickets? Don’t park illegally.
Don’t want speeding tickets? Drive the speed limit.
Why are we encouraging illegal behavior?
YES

Yesterday I testified in Council on the importance of place-management entities, supporting both a BID for the U Street corridor (finally!) and a Neighborhood Management Authority for Columbia Heights... which should be the beating heart of the District's Latino community.

These closers fell right to city’s and mayors lack of helping small businesses and making it too hard to be small business owner in this city.
sort of shocking how much DC seems to be stuck under the thumb of a class of people who believe the city has too many businesses, too much nightlife, too many residents, and is too much fun
The slow death of neighborhood serving retail is a huge quality of life crisis that DC needs to solve to remain a vibrant, livable city

This type of behavior from the DC gov increasingly causes me to believe that private investors aversion to our city is justified
DC residents love sip & stroll. They love streeteries. Our business are supportive. There is no real opposition
And yet, the Council takes no action

DC Gov fumbling streateries costs the city jobs and revenue. And we did this as our economy is contracting…
