social media has ruined being an artist every musician wants their songs heard, but the only way to get your songs heard now is by becoming a content creator shouldn't a musician be focused on creating music and providing value to their listeners? idk if someone follows my tiktok or instagram because of a song i posted, i HIGHLY doubt they want to watch me make the same video to that song every single day. but that truly IS THE GAME nowadays what happened to real rollouts? creating a project, making physical media, doing interviews about the album, radio press tours, and then touring the album and actually meeting the listeners in real life? that feels COMPLETELY dead nowadays. and you wonder why ticket sales are down , fans arent falling in love with music they are falling in love with a tiktok video then they scroll to the next one strange times

Everybody hating on Jack Harlow’s new R&B album MONICA.. consider this. Rap and hip hop are clearly on the decline commercially. Meanwhile genres like R&B, EDM and country are rising.. especially in ticket sales. Music is art, but it’s also a business. An artist’s job is to create. An entrepreneur’s job is to adapt. Think about your own job. If the market you sold to slowly disappeared, you’d probably pivot and sell to a different market. So why can’t an artist?

People keep saying “Jack isn’t for that market.” Why not? He’s an artist. If he wants to paint walls next year, he can. The consumer doesn’t decide what artists are ALLOWED to create. If artists only made what everyone expected from them, nothing new would ever happen… the world be gray. for that lane… the album is fire.

As a player of the game I can obviously see who is playing the game and who isn’t

2. **Lack of Immediate Consequences**: Online interactions don't always have immediate, tangible consequences, which can embolden people to express negative emotions without fear of direct repercussions.

3. **Echo Chambers**: Social media and online communities can create echo chambers where people with similar negative attitudes reinforce each other's beliefs, making it easier to spread hate.

Because that would be insane. No human actually does that. Unless of course you do. Then it’s an immediate death penalty or life in prison.

Song About Her is my favorite song

Without having to buy into an artist. That’s why no one buys tickets. They Litterally don’t have to. It’s not even the consumers fault tbh How many artists do you listen to every single day.. but you don’t follow their Instagram ? How many of their concerts have you been to?

How many viral songs can you sing word for word , but you can’t name the artist that made it? Consumers used to have to drive to the mall and buy a cd to listen to their artists music. Now you get access to every song at any second for free essentially.
