An excellent summary
Mattering
@_LisaCherry Nails it
After trauma of losing home, community then country (many involved in complex cross border cases can identify)
It's a very long road to mattering again for Mothers and children
Beautifully written with quiet wisdom 🙏
Today's post asks us to focus on the journey that we’ve been on in the last 10/15 years in relation to trauma! The good, the not so good and the really unhelpful!

‼️ Boston voted more than 75% Leave 🔥 the highest Leave vote in Britain.
Ten years later, residents tell the i that jobs are still scarce, public services still struggle, immigration has not disappeared and life has not noticeably improved.
One Leave voter says:
“It’s made no difference, has it?”
Another admits:
“We’re a poorer country than we would have been if we’d stayed in.”
That tells us something important.
People in places like Boston weren’t wrong to be angry. They had been living with decades of economic decline, low wages and disappearing industry.
But the EU wasn’t the cause of those failures and Brexit didn’t cure them.
The real task now is bigger than simply rejoining Europe.
We need to rebuild Britain at home while rebuilding our relationship with Europe abroad.
That is how you finally address the grievances that produced Brexit in the first place.
I'd do anything to be back in the EU. Thank you for being honest @andyburnham about what an utter shit show Brexshit was.
You're going to love my next book... it is a road map to creating relational webs of belonging as THE work. It's a leap from focusing on practical needs but the BML framework gets to those VIA relationships NOT at the expense of them! 😉

Congratulations to Carole Cadwalladr, @carolecadwalla, who together with colleagues first revealed this story.
The Belonging Mattering Liminality Framework published by Routledge will be out in March...

Belonging is often located as the responsibility of the person, that somehow it will happen by default. This is nonsense. Belonging has to be cultivated, weaved, tended to... it is intentional.
Join us in Birmingham next year to spend a day learning, growing, developing and cultivating intentional weaving of belonging so that you can take this learning into your teams, organisations and 1:1 relationships.
We can't wait to see you...

And this is *exactly* why we need independent journalism, folks. And the only hope of that is if people pay for it. This is not news, it's propaganda.
This is where the 'not all men' cry falls apart...
Predators don’t work in a silo. The Epstein files, Gisèle Pelicot, the over 50 students involved in the Cornell scandal - hundreds of men knew about the sexual assaults and abuses.
No more silence. No more inaction. Add your name.

My view across the city of #Belfast this morning where I'm speaking today. Will share more on this later...
It's been a busy week; #Durham, #Newcastle, #York, #Oxford and now Belfast.
I have a date with my sofa aaaaallll weekend ❤️
I've been watching the increasingly polarised 'debate' on neurodivergence, growing sadder by the day at how yet another aspect of lived experiences has been turned into something divisive. My research on belonging developed The Triad of Knowledge, where, to arrive at a place of 'wisdom', (I argue) we need to include all aspects of 'knowing '. In other words, we need each other. We also need safety and belonging and that is what I see people on all sides of the discussion reaching for, as all humans will inevitably do.
Why is everyone dying on hills all of a sudden. The contagion of language fascinates me reminding us all to think... then speak 😉 (the irony of posting this on this platform is not lost on me) 🙄
Today's post is for anyone interested in issues that involve young people who are leaving care.
