A new intriguing study... not read it yet!
"The recovery of starch grains on a Mousterian grindstone at Bombrini suggests that the last Neanderthals not only consumed and processed plants but also made flour 43–41,000 years ago." sciencedirect.com/science/ar…
A challenging study providing the oldest evidence of #flour processing in two Italian sites #Bombrini and #Castelcivita occupied by #homosapiens and the first evidence of the use of this technology by #Neanderthals.

Knowing that we carry Neandertal Denisovian genes connect us with our deep past and renew our connection with nature and planet earth 🌍 -
So happy 🎉 that the paradigm shift discoveries made by S. Paabo and collaborators are now recognized by @NobelPrize
Through his pioneering research, Svante Pääbo – this year’s #NobelPrize laureate in physiology or medicine – accomplished something seemingly impossible: sequencing the genome of the Neanderthal, an extinct relative of present-day humans.
