Watching The Presidents Cup: You can tell many of the younger players have been heavily influenced by the Patrick Reed “shhh” 🤫 growing up. It’s overused & not always situationally as dramatic … but it’s a go-to for many of them for sure. Also … lots of dipshits in the crowd have been influenced by lots of other past dipshits in the crowd yelling dumb stuff. This I could do without. 💯

Time to make a hole-in-one on one of those re-designated holes!😉🤣 We had the same type of flooding weather in 2023 & our normal 410-yard par 4, 10th was temporarily a par 3 for a few weeks, with all tees well in front of the flooded areas. Hole-in-one on #10 gets a lot of funny looks until they remember the flooded course.

Well if you’re Tobacco Road…appears their rule is immediate on the speaker.🤦‍♂️🤣 I couldn’t even get back in from the edge of the parking lot & it was gone … they still owe me a Bushnell Outdoorsman. Rangefinder … never. Keep secure until claimed.

🎯 on all lateral, but keep white stakes to define that you cannot play the ball inside that area & must take penalty relief inside the course boundaries. Lateral options would be standardized & known throughout. Lost balls could still be a rules issue, so you could still allow the provisional in an expected or probable situation.

50 under is a great O / U number. I’d say yes under most conditions because it’s the best shot of 4 highly skilled golfers each time. The comments are wild though … I’ve never seen so many either not understand what a scramble is … or somewhere along the line invented oddly specific rules like … dropping in the rough 🤔? What? Last one I played was no gimmicks, but bogey max, 1-club length anywhere, out of any condition (including bunkers, penalty areas) for pace. These guys dropping each ball in the rough or playing within a scorecard placement 🤯 … wow.

Straight scramble, -17 impressive … but not crazy. Scramble with gimmicks … -17 might not even be in the Top 3.

@chambleebrandel @mcginleygolf @eamonlynch Good debate on Presidents Cup future on LiveFrom — got 3-wide in turn 3 a few times — but definitely covered all aspects. This isn’t an event that really draws me personally as a fan, but it’s mainly because it’s too similar to the Ryder Cup & feels like yet another 🇺🇸 team vs every year.🤦‍♂️ Less points for more competitiveness, getting rid of Foursomes as a format (perhaps 2-man scramble for low scores/aggressive play) are ideas I’ve thought about. There’s definitely a need to implement some change/s with the expressed target of bringing the competitive nature of this event closer to a center bubble.

A1 #GolfChat I watched every round … tbh only caught the back 9 the final day due to golf. The times were early morning starts … football weekend … nothing spectacular about the course. The ratings didn’t surprise me, but larger viewing numbers will happen when the event is in the US.

First set was persimmons & blades. Longer course, windy conditions, push-up greens. Learned by swinging hard, low ball flight, bump & runs (rarely ever see a lob chip in my mind — even after others play that shot in front of me). Definitely a strong influence on my game.

It’s the Presidents Cup … we can get away with it.🤷‍♂️ It’s when these types of good ol’ boy decisions are made in the Ryder Cup that we get ourselves in trouble.

Wrote for a now defunct golf website for a few years. Did my own stories & subjects. It takes a lot of time & if it’s your own thing…possibly your own financial investment. Those who get to write about golf/sports (& get paid to do so) are the lucky ones.
