Kasongo's entanglement with RSF was a huge mistake and to make matters worse, it came with zero national benefits. Maybe he benefitted personally, but his personal dealings endangered our interests/trade/reputation etc. Carrying water for UAE was extremely short sighted.

Moi wasn't handed a thriving state. He took over when there was a global oil crisis & recession, EAC has collapsed, & coffee prices which had created a boom soon began to fall. In as much as Moi did many bad things, he also faced harsh external problems that weren't his fault.
