Infrastructure is very important for the Sentinel ecosystem. Sentinel has the most decentralized peer to peer networking design with its use of a blockchain as a DHT for peer discovery and connection authentication .
Builders and users on Sentinel require only the access to a chain RPC.
dVPN applications built on Sentinel have been used by over 1.7 million users and the network has reached a new all-time-high usage metric crossing over 200k users within a month.
In order for the Sentinel ecosystem to attain its vision, it must have access to infrastructure that cannot be disrupted.
If the chain halts or RPC infrastructure gets attacked - the network is not accessible. In addition there must be the ability for the Sentinel protocol to be upgraded without the requirement of a chain upgrade process that causes down-time and a disruption in decentralized VPN connectivity.

User security is always top priority at SafePal, and the following measures are taken to prevent such situations:
- Compulsory security reviews for all codebases before integration
-Stringent scanning of all dependencies, version pinning, and monitoring for vulnerabilities, blocking any automatic updates to any packages that might be compromised
- Self-contained build environments with integrity checks
Users are advised to verify transaction data when interacting with external 3rd party dapps and websites before signing to be safe, and use a hardware wallet for an additional layer of security.
SafePal will maintain and continue improving its security measures to protect users and their funds against emerging threats.
