Do you know what to do if you are in trouble in the water?
Follow @RNLI advice and #FloatToLive:
Tilt your head back with ears submerged
Relax
Once you are over the initial shock, call for help or swim to safety

Exploring the hills as part of a large group - #BeAdventureSmart - Ask yourself 3 questions before you set off:
• Am I confident I have the KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS for the day?
• Do I know what the WEATHER will be like?
• Do I have the right GEAR?

A lakeside fire might seem like a good idea, but it can quickly go wrong. With the warm, dry weather, wildfires are more likely to happen. Avoid open flames in rural areas. If you spot a wildfire, call 999 immediately.

We're aware there's a post about purchasing white team hoodies doing the rounds - this is nothing to do with the team and clearly a scam so please ignore.
Our team merchandise, which is rather fabulous but doesn't include white hoodies, is available at kinder-mountain-rescue-team.…

What would mountain rescue do?
Carry a conventional map and compass AS WELL AS any navigation apps or maps on your phone. And practice using the traditional tools regularly.
It’s always best to have a safety net for navigation that doesn’t rely on battery power, esp when cold.
