Thx for explaining us how Texas 'accidentally' became a leader in the energy transition!
Many thanks to @_JanMertens @CaptuREsources and @EnerGhentIC for hosting me for this public keynote lecture. My first energy policy seminar in a medieval church! Great conversation.
I enjoyed talking with Kevin Van Geem and Elina Nauha on the topic of high temperature heat in the industry.
Great discussions on the roles of electrons and molecules to help not just decarbonise but rather defossilise our industry!

I just co-authored this World Economic Forum article following a discussion we had at the @wef Global Future Councils:

Hard-to-abate segments in the energy transition require electricity-based e-methanol in large quantities. Transport costs could be a key factor in determining the best locations for future green e-methanol projects.

Thrilled to share that our latest research article evaluating Carbon Removal Technologies has been published in iScience! 🎉 This interdisciplinary effort, by ENGIE’s scientific council, aims to support effective and legitimate use of CDR strategies cell.com/iscience/fulltext/S…
During our visit to Laborelec with the @ugent students following the 'Sustainable Energy' course, we learned about the queste for affordable, & sustainable technologies!
Not all that is being tested will lead to massive adoption but piloting is the only way to find it out!!!
Would be good indeed to understand this model outcome...
Replying to @IEA
@IEA projects collapse of solar PV installs beyond 2035 in new #WEO iea.org/reports/world-energy…. The rational of this collapse remains unclear. Why the lowest cost electricity shall collapse? ... pushed by steeply falling battery prices & needs for e-fuels? @AukeHoekstra @mzjacobson
