I think this is especially true of early stage PhD students. Every ECR event I have attended recently has included numerous students asking for support on imposter syndrome and anxiety/depression. You should not have to suffer to get an advanced degree.
Almost every grad student I know is depressed or burned out. Here are 5 small things I use to trick myself into having a better work day. A 🧵: #Mentalhealth #gradstudents @PhD_Genie @PhDVoice @MindfulAcademix @AcademicChatter @OpenAcademics @GradStudentTho1

I really enjoyed the Metabolomics 2022 conference. I learned a lot, caught up with old friends and the weather in Valencia was a bonus! I also got to present some of the work from my thesis.

This is a brilliant opportunity for an undergraduate student. I was the UGR in 2018 and gained a ton of experience and had A LOT of fun. The workload is perfectly manageable during your studies and the committee are all friendly and helpful. Join us! Happy to answer any Q's.

So cool! Spray on viral transfection for crop improvement.
New 'spray-on' viral transfection tech by Torti et al. could help speed breed crops like winter wheat or fruit trees by transiently manipulating key genes in the flowering pathway Our piece for @NaturePlants rdcu.be/cfrad Original article: rdcu.be/cfs5g
Brassica colour diversity has led to some impressive varieties with improved nutritional properties (+anthocyanins in purple vars). Got to love these crops

When did this ever make sense?
I'm trying to understand academics, so if a journal publishes your research, you pay them $1,000. Then they make more money by selling your research, but instead of giving you back some money, you get prestige points & if you get enough prestige points, you get to keep your job?
Carried out my first DNA extraction in two years today... How has it been that long? Metabolomics has consumed me.

For extended Q&As or "meet the speaker" sessions they seem to work well, but networking in a packed virtual room is challenging. It can be a tough job for moderators to maintain engagement.
Does anyone actually like going into breakout rooms? 🤔
