Your University will increase your school fees, and you will immediately join other students to protest because you know your parents don't have that kind of money.
You also know that there are people in that same university who are rich enough to pay the increased fees without any difficulty. Yet, some of them will join you to protest because they understand that the issue goes beyond their personal circumstances. Others will stay back because they believe the problem doesn't concern them.
You will protest until the school eventually listens and rectifies the situation. You will organise yourselves, mobilise other students, demand accountability and refuse to back down because you understand what is at stake.
You have seen what happens when people come together over a common problem. You have seen the strength of numbers. You have experienced the power of unity.
Now, take that same understanding beyond the walls of your university.
When the government increases the cost of living, when public universities become unaffordable, when hospitals become inaccessible to ordinary Nigerians, when electricity becomes a luxury and when the government makes decisions that affect your future, you suddenly act as though none of it concerns you.
You have convinced yourself that your vote doesn't count. You have allowed bad leadership, political manipulation and years of disappointment to make you believe that nothing can change.
But you already know what happens when people refuse to accept a situation and stand together to demand change.
You have done it before. You have seen it work.
The same government that makes decisions about your school fees will make decisions about your employment, your income, your taxes, your security and the future you hope to build.
You cannot understand the power of unity in your university and suddenly become powerless when it comes to your country.
You are sitting down there, broke, defeated and hungry, convinced that your vote doesn't count because you've been mentally defeated.
Your vote is one of the few tools you have to hold political leaders accountable. Use it. Organise. Demand better. Refuse to let anybody convince you that your participation is meaningless.
You have already seen what collective action can achieve. Apply that lesson to Nigeria.
Your future is being decided, whether you participate or not.

In 2001, President Olusegun Obasanjo’s request to the National Assembly to buy a ₦5.5 billion plane was rejected by the House of Representatives after a heated debate.
Eyo Akaninyene argued that lawmakers could not approve the request when the administration had yet to make a positive impact on the lives of Nigerians.
Maurice Ibekwe warned that Nigerians might protest the purchase “when there was hunger in the land.”
Emma Anosike questioned why such a huge sum was being requested while the country continued to face crises in the health and education sectors.
Pro-Obasanjo lawmakers, like House Leader Mohammed Wakil, unsuccessfully tried to delay the vote to build support for the proposal. They argued that the aircraft was intended for the office of the president, not Obasanjo personally.
But Stanley Ngada insisted, “This is the time to think of the people's welfare, and how to provide basic infrastructure.”
The Punch newspaper reported that the House eventually voted down the proposal, which had passed through the Senate earlier with little friction.

In Nigerian journalism, ask a politician tough questions and his supporters call you an enemy.
Ask his opponent the same questions and the other side calls you a spokesman.
Apparently, objectivity is only acceptable when it agrees with you.
My job is not to defend your party. It is to ask the questions your party would rather avoid, and to give the side that isn’t in the studio a voice.
I play the devil’s advocate for every guest, regardless of party, tribe or ideology.
If my questions make you uncomfortable, don’t assume I’m against your guest. Ask whether the guest has answered them.
A journalist’s loyalty is not to a politician’s comfort, or an audience’s political tribe. It is to the public’s right to question power.
I am not here to cheer for your side. I am here to challenge every side.

Flying cars are no longer a myth.
A stable supply of electricity in Nigeria is still a myth.

In the year of our lord 2026 Nigerians are transporting burns victims to the hospital with wheelbarrows 💔
An oil producing nation mind you
But there are thousands of APC campaign buses
This is how victims of the Oluku explosion were transported to the hospital.
No ambulance.
No adequate emergency response.
No visible emergency medical infrastructure.
But somehow, 50,000 campaign buses are possible.
Tomorrow, you could be the next victim simply by going to the market to buy meat. In an emergency, shouting “God forbid” won’t replace an ambulance or a functioning healthcare system.
APC, SHAME ON YOU!
Went to UCH yesterday and i found out that Doctors are on warning strike just because the government has refused to pay them💀… The same Government you people want to vote for next year?? Ngwanu.

fire incident in my building. called 911 & within 2 mins, 4 fire trucks & an ambulance arrived.
as 2027 approaches, ask yourself: does your candidate have more SUVs in his campaign than your entire state has fire trucks?
a society’s priorities are reflected in what it protects.
