IMI completely rejects Ofcom’s report. Allegations are not findings. Association is not control. Speculation is not evidence. IMI rejects any suggestion that it has ever interfered, or would ever interfere, in the editorial independence of its media outlets.

Probably the most honest note anyone has issued yet: JPMorgan throws up hands, says it has no clue what happens next. "For the first time since the start of the Iran conflict, we don't have a baseline view. We simply don't know how to model the endgame." cnbc.com/2026/09/17/jpmorgan…

Bingo. The fact this even needs to be argued is extraordinary.

Update: The arrest of former Iraqi Deputy Oil Minister for Refining Affairs, Adnan Mohammed Hamoud al-Jumaili, has so far led not only to a wave of high-profile arrests, but also to the seizure of what may become one of the largest corruption stockpiles uncovered in post-2003 Iraq. So far, Iraqi authorities say they have seized more than 98 billion Iraqi dinars and $11 million in cash. Part of the money was reportedly buried four meters underground and hidden on farms. Courts have also frozen 70 residential and commercial properties and confiscated 21 modern vehicles. Investigators have also recovered nearly three kilograms of gold, an estimated 70 to 85 firearms, roughly 300 to 400 magazines, and dozens of ammunition crates, storage containers, and equipment cases. Al-Jumaili, who also served as Director General of the North Refineries Company and the Baiji Refinery, was arrested in the Ishaqi area of Salah al-Din Governorate by a specialized security force executing a judicial warrant. His case was transferred to the Interior Ministry's Intelligence and Federal Investigations Agency. His arrest came about a month after he was removed from his post by order of Prime Minister Ali Falih al-Zaidi as part of a broader review of government contracts and corruption allegations.
#Iraq #SITREP | All eyes are on Baghdad this morning, and not because of Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas @Araghchi's visit. Instead, Iraqi authorities under the auspices of Iraq's new prime minsiter Ali Falih Kadhim al-Zaidi have launched what appears to be the largest anti-corruption crackdown since 2003. Officially, the campaign stems from confessions made by former Deputy Oil Minister Adnan al-Jumaili, whose testimony reportedly triggered a series of judicial warrants targeting senior politicians, former officials, businessmen, and members of parliament. Local Iraqi sources tell @BashaReport that heavily armed units from the Counter Terrorism Service, Special Forces, and the Iraqi Army carried out coordinated raids across Baghdad's Green Zone, Karkh, Rusafa, and several other provinces to prevent suspects from fleeing. According to Iraqi state media and local reporting, those arrested or targeted in the operation include: 1) Bahaa al-Nouri, member of parliament affiliated with former Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani's coalition. 2) Mudhar al-Karawi, member of parliament. 3) Mohammed Farman, member of parliament. 4) Mohammed al-Karbouli, member of parliament from the Azm Alliance. 5) Muthanna Samer al-Ra'i, member of parliament and leader of the Azm Alliance. 6) Alia Nassif, member of parliament affiliated with former Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani's coalition. 7) Hassan al-Khafaji, member of parliament affiliated with the same coalition. 8) Mohammed al-Sayhoud, former member of parliament and a relative of former Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani. 9) Ibrahim al-Sumaidaie, political analyst. 10) Hind al-Abbasi, member of parliament from Salah al-Din with ties to Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq. 11) Ali Ma'arij, former Deputy Oil Minister who was recently placed under U.S. sanctions. 12) Ziad al-Janabi, former chairman of the Parliamentary Integrity Committee and current member of parliament. 13) Mohammed al-Mayyahi, former governor of Wasit and current member of parliament. 14) Hussein Mo'nis, a member of parliament and senior figure in Kata'ib Hezbollah. 15) Alaa Sakar, a member of parliament affiliated with former Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani's coalition. Iraqi officials say the arrests were authorized by the judiciary after parliament lifted immunity for several lawmakers during the current legislative recess. Prime Minister al-Zaidi has pledged that his government will continue pursuing corruption cases regardless of rank or political affiliation.

Al Budaiwi: Why would I ask him if it's not introduced to me? We don't know what is the 300, who's going to fund the 300, who's going to be the beneficiary of the 300. Source: The National

Correct, it’s a fantasy. But this is why it makes everyone feel good in Europe.
“When Mark Carney said, ‘The middle powers should get together’—it’s a fantasy. They did that, it’s called Europe,” says Jamie Dimon, chairman and CEO of JPMorganChase. “The GDP of Europe has gone from 90% of America to 70%.
