Mustang Sally is a perfect example of how one reckless act can destroy a future someone else has spent years trying to protect. He’s the kind of guy who mistakes being entertaining and fearless for being untouchable. But when his temper takes over, the consequences stop being funny. His violence puts other people in danger, and suddenly the people around him have to decide whether loyalty is worth the risk of keeping him around. That’s what makes The Sopranos so effective at portraying this world. Nobody gets to judge a man only by his intentions or his reputation. Eventually, his actions force everyone else to deal with the damage. And in Tony’s world, the people making those decisions rarely have clean hands themselves.
