This is incredible.
An Algerian Hamas supporter who became an illegal overstayer in Britain, lied to immigration officers about it, and went to prison for it, is now in a senior role at the BBC.
Because the Tories and Labour failed to deport him.
Hicham Yezza has a long record of supporting Islamist violence.
He was arrested in 2008 for possessing an al-Qaeda terrorist training manual.
He came to Britain on a visa that expired in 2003. He stayed anyway. When immigration officers caught up with him, he told them his passport with the visa stamp had been stolen. They found it in his flat.
A jury convicted him of deception. He was jailed for nine months.
Then he won his appeal against deportation, and was later handed British citizenship.
Now he’s the Principal Data Scientist in the BBC’s “Responsible AI” division, helping to decide how AI shapes what BBC News tells you.
Before that he worked at BBC Monitoring, briefing BBC journalists on the Middle East.
Can you guess what kind of briefings he gave them?
He should never have been allowed to stay. Under Reform, people like him never will be.
Under Operation Restoring Justice, we will detain and deport anyone who broke into our country.
Our borders will mean something again.

This is exactly why the uk will combust. You cannot punish people who get up day after day & go to work, do everything right, contribute to society with their taxes & their efforts… then reward those that don’t.
A UK family where both parents work full-time, pay full council tax, and earn enough to be 'doing alright' on paper, can't afford to take their kids to the Tower of London on a Saturday in 2026.
Two adult tickets and two child tickets at standard price comes to roughly £100. Add £40-£80 in train fares and £50-£70 for lunch — that's around £200 for a single Saturday at one tourist attraction in their own capital city.
A family on full Universal Credit, living in subsidised housing, paying no council tax, can take the same four people to the same Tower for £1 a ticket — £4 total — under the 'inclusive access' schemes most major UK attractions now run.
The working family pays the full £200 day out AND covers — through their taxes — the £196 discount the benefits family gets on the same trip.
Whatever the original intention of those schemes, this is the structure most UK working families are now living inside. Pay the full bill, then watch the people next door enjoy the day out you can't take your own kids to.

Latest polls confirms what I’ve been writing for months. Labour is pulling back 2024 Labour voters + Greens. It is pulling ahead & will win the next election unless the Right also consolidates. Left-wing voters are far more willing than right-wing voters to vote tactically.

Hi Shaun.
I think the problems facing the UK currently are unresolvable in the near future but not just for the reasons many throw out there.
If I take just the single story of the Hamas operative given a British passport and anonymity protection for a hundred years plus a new identity, the implications of that are no longer just domestic. It means a known terrorist has been given the means to travel pretty much anywhere in the world and the cover to do whatever he wants.
And that’s just one story out of many. But when you overlay that on the flood of unverified immigrants and the many known terrorists that have been given sanctuary in the UK, the double standards of the application of UK laws, the mass government cover up of the rape gangs, and the multitude of other things being forced onto the British public, the situation has reached a point where the government has lost total control and is no longer simply incompetent. It is 100% complicit in all of it because all of it is government policy.
Then the implications of that mean that the UK is not a reliable ally in any way. It falls almost under the definition of a state sponsor of terrorism.
The best analogy to use which will define it correctly is that the UK is now the equivalent of Qatar. They host terrorists knowingly and protect them. They have a state media similar to Al Jazeera in the BBC, they both want the destruction of Israel, they both prioritize Palestinians over their own domestic affairs, and they act more aligned with the Democratic Socialists of America than a democratic European state.
The country is in complete freefall. Their answer to that is to throw even more money at social welfare and wastage that they don’t have, they are absolutely not a serious player when it comes to security, both domestically and globally, and there is nothing in anything the government says or does that even remotely shows they have any idea of how to fix anything.
What they have done to the British people, and in fairness it’s not just Labour but the governments before them as well, is just criminal. I’ve made the decision to take my family and leave this country. We’ve pretty much sold our home and my wife being British for dozens of generations is heartbroken but she too has given up hope. It’s that fact that made the decision to leave easy because she would always find reason to never leave.
So to answer your specific question, it’s very fucked at the moment. The one and ONLY thing that could fix it is the British people themselves. But they just don’t have the stomach or courage to stand up and fight for it. When I say fight, I don’t mean with violence or a civil war. That may likely happen eventually as it stands. But I mean in any meaningful way.
If 5 million British people came to London and brought the capital to a complete standstill for two weeks, just as these stupid leftists do constantly, the sheer numbers would be too much for any police force to stop. I’m not advocating violence. I’m saying the people have the power to use the other side’s tactics and bring change. But they don’t. Because many are too afraid of being labeled right wing. And pretty soon there won’t be much left worth even fighting for.

I spent over two decades in counterterrorism and I’m still involved in many ways, so here are my views on what I see has happened over the past 24-36 hours in the UK:
Five British men in their twenties were arrested on Sunday near RAF Fairford on suspicion of explosives offences and the preparation of a terrorist act. On Monday they were released on police bail.
That’s not what the terrorism clock looks like when the investigators are still in charge of it.
Under ordinary UK criminal law a suspect can be held for 24 hours, stretched to 36 by a superintendent, and to 96 hours by a magistrate.
But under section 41 of the Terrorism Act the first hold is 48 hours, not 24 hours. A judge can then extend it, in stages, up to 14 days without a charge. If the case merits it, it can even be pushed to 28 days. That 14-day cap exists for exactly this kind of file of vans, an airbase the United States uses, a possible foreign hand, explosives (if there were any) and interviews that are not finished on the first night.
Counter-terrorism police said the inquiry isn’t over. They said conditions apply. They said a state link has not been ruled out. Those sentences he said only make sense if the evidence trail was still live. A live trail is why Parliament built the two-week window.
But watching the guy read out the statement showed me in his body language, tone and eye movements that releasing those five men was NOT his or his department’s decision.
Walking five men after roughly a day is what you do with a pub fight, not with a suspected terrorist attack on a bomber base.
I’ve sat in enough interrogation rooms to know the difference between a custody clock and a political ceiling. Nobody had to shout an order down a phone. Someone in the political building above the investigators decided that charging British nationals on Monday, with Iran already denying it, Washington watching the runway, and a Labour conference where the main topics of discussion were prioritizing Palestinian and other refugees settling in the UK, was uglier than bail and a holding statement.
The law allowed them to keep the door shut. Yet the door opened anyway in half of the most minimum time.
That’s the story. That for me is the only story here. Not “they were innocent.” Not “the case collapsed.” The statute was not exhausted, but the appetite was.
The real question is who, and most importantly, why?

The right must form a grand coalition around three core principles:
1. Dramatic cuts to public spending.
2. Ending illegal immigration (including mass deportations) and dramatically reducing legal migration.
3. Scrapping net zero and delivering cheap energy.
Everything else is secondary. If they don’t, they’ll lose to a tactical left-wing coalition. That is the political reality.
