Oh so this is why they cancelled Spider-Noir
Recording a character death so wild I had literally both my arms cramp from different takes, how does that even happen lmaooo
Whenever I post things like this, I tend get several bookmarks & queries... so would there be any interest if I offered website-specific branding/design consultations?
Qualifications are: my dayjob is [checks notes] brand & tone, marketing, graphic design and more ๐๐งต๐
I also hone in on VA website & personality-driven branding specifically with my Limit Break coaching for my mentees, if they desire it, so this is something I've already got an adaptable template for :)
Mostly getting a feel for interest just yet, buuuut...
Locked in and overhauled my website testimonials page! Much as I love a sprawling mess, it wasn't quite workin for me here, so hopefully this is a change for the better...
Thoughts? ๐ ๐ฅฐ ๐๏ธ โจ

It really is frustrating, I get it. Here's some free advice almost nobody takes:
Separate TECHNIQUE coaching (how to act) from INDUSTRY coaching. Learn technique from everyone you can. But plenty of people give industry advice without ever succeeding in the industry, or only in one genre, and that's where things go wrong.
Then raise your standards and actually vet your coaches. Are they full time, with a good agent, booking regularly? Or did they book one big thing and ride it at conventions? Or only a few big indie things? That's the bare minimum. Many coaches who prey on newbies do so because they aren't booking, anyone can call themselves a coach, and newbies don't know what success looks like yet so people take advantage.
Good advice is rare because someone had to earn it the hard way, with no help. What I teach took me years of suffering to learn. That's why we charge, and why it stings when people get mad that we want to be paid for teaching the easy version of what we figured out on hard mode.
But money can't buy talent or a personality people want to work with, and that's what matters most. Your future employers are on social media too. Everyone gets frustrated, me included, but venting publicly can backfire. Trust me.
Honestly, if you're spending THAT much money, something's off. You're getting caught in sales funnels you don't have to be in. Those aren't going anywhere, so you have to get more discerning.
People suffered to figure out what I just told you for free. Now it's on you to do something with that free advice.
FWIW, "it's a marathon not a sprint" is both 100% true and also a meaningless non-answer people use to shut you up when they don't know what to say. ๐คฃ๐ค Good luck!

In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgent to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity.
An incredibly fulfilling trip to Liverpool this week: speaking at @Format_Group Tech Summit (+ raving it up at the afterparty), connecting w/brilliant indie and AAA devs of all disciplines, and of course a day-long food and culture tour with the incomparable @trev_actorvoice ๐ท๐ซ
