Interesting that Future is grouped with Travis in the sing rapper point. I don’t think I’ve ever considered him a singer.
Bob Costas was 18 when his father dropped dead at JFK airport. At the wake, a man handed him a thick envelope with $6,000 in $100 bills. It was everything his father left behind, and a bookie would never have paid it to a dead man.
In the video below, he tells the story himself.
His father, John, was a big-time gambler. Not casinos, not racetracks. Ball games. Bob says the mortgage was literally riding on his bets.
When the games went the wrong way, he threw things, cursed and yelled. Bob’s mom and sister would leave. Bob stayed, because watching the games with his dad was the only way to be close to him.
Friday, May 15, 1970. A cop knocks on the door. Before he says a word, Bob’s mother asks, “My husband’s dead, isn’t he?” John Costas had a heart attack walking through JFK. He was 42.
At the wake, one of his gambling buddies walked in with the envelope. “Your father was up when he died. Give this to your mother.” A bookie never pays a dead man, so the friend went to the bookie himself and said John sent him to collect.
Decades later, Bob Costas refused to read sports betting ads on air. Today the bookie lives in everyone’s phone. Is that progress?
It was actually written as soon as he signed on as the halftime show creative director. This might be the last year of that deal, and I wholeheartedly believe it was always the design to do the last one.

He literally reported his earnings. He’s made $2.2 billion since taking office. These clowns think we are all idiots.

Two Kenosha brothers who paid $1,000 each for a Milwaukee Brewers "Timeless Ticket" more than a decade ago say the team isn't fully honoring the promise that came with it — the chance to sit in the best available seats for a game as big as the World Series.

The sadist in me gets great pleasure from watching white folks do what they do on immigrant buffer groups (Asians, Latinos, Indians, Diaspora Black Folks)…cause y’all think we lying about these people. It’s best you learn for yourselves.
That man @VivekGRamaswamy has a White voter problem. The irony? He apparently thought embracing MAGA conservatism and attacking Black Americans would shield him from racism within his own party. Yet some Republican voters still won’t accept him. Comedy 😂.

Artists often want their album out right away, then blame the label when it underperforms. Tinashe presented Popstar to Atlantic IN JANUARY. It was released in September. With 9 months of runway, it became her biggest debut. Campaigns require planning. Your team needs time!
Mans could just get a job where they put the games on in the office.
Said it a few weeks ago when people were tripping on Chike’s 13k equivalent sales. That’s 19.5M streams. Imagine if a lot of those streams were converted to digital downloads. Shit would look a lot different.
Crazy that iTunes shut down because of the transition to streaming and years later, the general thesis of what iTunes offered might be part of the solution the music industry is looking for.
1. The ability to support artists by buying their music, giving them the ability to earn more music
2. That purchased music living in a library with the rest of that listener's music in one place, as opposed to a separate app or platform just for the songs they buy
If Apple wanted to relaunch iTunes with the ability for artists to offer tiers or packages of their releases and allowing fans to pay what they want, could it change the game?
Wild how cyclical music is.
