Last week @thenyfoundling blessed me with this bday gift (was still my bday week y’all), a blog post featuring me talking about the new book with @DrLaraCox that dropped earlier this year - published by @ELSPsychology. Totally stoked and honored to be featured and even more...

Another young person taking their lives.
BREAKING: Breaking Bad star RJ Mitte dead at 34, died by su*cide, according to TMZ. Mitte was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at three years old and gave his final interview just days ago. "It is with profound sadness we share the tragic passing of beloved actor, philanthropist, and passionate disability rights advocate RJ Mitte," his representatives told TMZ. "RJ Mitte was best known for his role as Walter 'Flynn' White Jr. on AMC’s critically acclaimed, award-winning series Breaking Bad. Drawing from his own experience living with cerebral palsy, Mitte brought authenticity to the role and built a platform on disability awareness and inclusion." "Beyond entertaining friends and family around the world, he served as an ambassador for United Cerebral Palsy and Shriners Children’s." Mitte was engaged to Kennedy Suarez. Heartbreaking. RIP.

Henrietta Lacks would have turned 106 this month. Her story is not just history. It is a reminder that trust in healthcare must be earned through consent, dignity, transparency, and accountability.

Thanks for spreading the word @MontefioreNYC ! Super grateful to have a chance to communicate about how we do what we do in #psychiatry
What if the biggest risk of switching antidepressants isn’t the new medication but stopping the old one too fast? @nytimes spoke to Dr. Karinn Glover about why slow, careful cross‑tapering matters. bit.ly/4v01ME8

A personal health update & a reminder that physicians don’t have everything figured out when it comes to our own health. Prevention looks different for each of us, and sometimes it means taking medication. This is me taking my own advice and protecting my heart & brain health.

Why would you be against research updates on a condition? Sounds like you’re consumed by ideology. Hope you can get back to science soon.

No wonder Woody gets sturdy because he is black. Most people have no idea that Woody from Toy Story was named after a real person, a Black man named Woody Strode who broke the NFL color barrier one year before Jackie Robinson integrated baseball. 🔥

I had never heard this history, and I am devastated. In the 1960s, two Black infants died after receiving an experimental RSV vaccine in an NIH-sponsored study in Washington, D.C. Their names were Ross Otto Hambrick and Victor Marcellus King. Thread.
