Summary of Kuminga thoughts: - Lakers definitely gets dinged by this. 3 seed w/ JK, 4th seed w/out him. Fit was better w/ LA vs Minny. - Lakers needs another starting level player this year. I wouldn’t stop working the phones if I’m Rob. - Over/under 3 months before Minnesota fans start treating Kuminga like Julius Randle - If we are being honest that’s the fit type for JK on that roster and we saw how that worked out - Minnesota will be must watch TV for sure, super athletic. My theory on why the national media is down on the Lakers compared to other teams… There is a closed minded thought process that if a team loses a player of the caliber LeBron James they MUST have a down season(s) until they rebuild. Lakers have one of the top players in the NBA so the floor is already well above teams post-star leaving The Lakers if you actually watched last year (Weren’t just name/box score watching like the national media does) weren’t a true contender so the ceiling for the former vs current team isn’t that far apart, it’s most likely equal. LA lost LeBron but upgraded every role player on the team. They are still a top 5 seed, playoff 2nd round exit squad w/ or w/o LeBron so the doom and gloom is unnecessary if you pay attention.
