In April 2021, Serge Attukwei Clottey activated his installation, The Wishing Well, with a mask performance of “I’m Here to Stay” that aspired to connect communities in the Coachella Valley with his hometown of Labadi in Ghana. Watch the performance at desertx.org/learn/programs.
This week we have exceeded our 2019 audience numbers, with 500,000 visits to the various installations and more than 1 million unique visitors to our website. More than 500 students from the Coachella Valley have participated in a project with Colombian artist Oscar Murillo.

Inspired by Serge Attukwei Clottey’s public art sculpture, The Wishing Well, and the artist’s embodiment of a masked water warrior in an impromptu performance at the installation, Desert X created a mask craft activity to do at home. desertx.org/learn/programs/m… #DesertX #DX21
Another incredible piece from @_Desertx “Wishing Well” by Serge Attukwei Clottey is a large sculpture of large cubes covered with small pieces of woven yellow plastic Kufuor gallons used to transport water in Ghana. desertx.org #desertx #desertx2021 #DX21 #palmsprin
