My senior year my 1st offer was from a D3 school. I built an amazing relationship with this coach. I was considering the school heavily. But eventually decided to go JUCO. Just a few months after my decision I was scrolling my Twitter feed and Saw that coach took a job at a Group of 5 D1. Wild. Especially to me. Throughout this time I kept an open dialogue. And going into my freshman year of JUCO I saw they were hosting a few camps. I reached out to coach to see if it was even worth going to. Luckily I got a great reply giving me the green light and went to the camp. It was a great time. 3 days straight of being in front of the coaching staff. The OC ended up following me after the camps and I continued the relationship with that same coach who gave me my first offer. I was excited at the possibility of this. Sadly when the season wrapped up the coaching staff left for a different school. And the coach I had built a relationship with ended up at a FCS program. And now is an assistant coach at a Power 5 program. The lesson is you never know where someone might end up. Never pass up an opportunity no matter how small it might seem in the moment.
