As some have noted, there was indeed :01 on the bug clock when the pass hit the ground (BYU/ND). Replay should have reviewed to determine if the in-stadium clock was at :01 at that point and if so, ND would have had one more play.

On Notre Dame’s final drive, there were multiple occasions where the clock ran longer than it was supposed to: • Out of bounds at 0:27, clock goes to 0:26 • Out of bounds at 0:17, clock goes to 0:15 BYU’s clock operator needs to be investigated.

FOX rules analyst Mike Pereira told The Athletic that the ending of the BYU-Notre Dame game was “embarrassing for all officiating” and that Notre Dame should “get one more play.” The Irish were at the center of two officiating controversies Saturday night: a potential missed defensive pass interference call and questions over whether one second should have remained on the clock after the final play.

Here’s what the Top 10 should look like after these 7 weeks 1) Miami 2) BYU 3) Ohio State 4) UCLA 5) Texas Tech 6) Notre Dame 7) Indiana 8) Georgia 9) Ole Miss 10) Tennessee
The Coaches Poll Top 25 It’s so fascinating to me that Georgia loses to an unranked team and drops 3 spots Then you have Notre Dame lose to a Top 10 team and drops 6 spots

Don’t know how Trevor can have confidence in throwing it to BTJ at this point. Drive killing drop. Catch the ball man!

This is actually borderline concerning. Flag comes out AFTER the TD and from the Deep Official?? Line Judge has perfect look and lets it go. This is an insanely bad call and cost the Jaguars 7 points. Completely changes the game. @NFLOfficiating this is becoming a game integrity issue.
#Jaguars RB Bhayshul Tuten just lost a TD because the refs called Brenton Strange for holding on a play he didn't hold. 🤦‍♂️

Wild that that happened in favor of the home team both times this year with refs from the home team’s conference. Probably a coincidence.

Lost his footing on a shit field. Ironically one of the only few that aren’t his fault to me

We had our best WR run a 2yd curl route when there was 4 seconds on the clock and we snapped the ball from the 9…. AND ran a one option fade route off that curl so the corner could help off it because…. A 2yd fade route when u need 9, with 4 seconds is pointless. F off denbrock

“It is embarrassing for all officiating quite frankly.” Did BYU-Notre Dame end with 1 second on clock? Our report on why the refs should’ve reviewed whether the Irish had time for another play: nytimes.com/athletic/7700125…

They made the National Championship game…in the expanded playoff…beating #8 Indiana, #2 Georgia and #4 Penn State…two years ago…
Congrats to Notre Dame for continuing its streak of losing every single time they play an actual football team.

Last tweet about ND and we’re onto the Bears. It’s unacceptable that in the year 2026 refs will spend 10 mins looking at a WMU v Mich Hail Mary attempt for 1 second (extremely uncommon) but a top 10 matchup that hosted Gameday gets a crew that sprints off after a normal play.

So Michigan can get 1 second added to the clock, but Notre Dame isn’t able to use the 1 second that was clearly left on the clock? Make it make sense…
there is CLEARLY 1 SECOND LEFT just watch it back in slo mo it’s not close clock doesn’t even get to 0:00 as I replay it

The Florida St offensive holding call was not a foul. The contact by the BYU defender was defensive pass interference.
