Leader. Legend. Man Mountain.
I make it that we have 16 potential new clubs (plus a new ground in York City) currently available to us in Monday's FA Cup First Round draw, ahead of any replays to come.
So one of those away please 🤞
Late to the party today:
- TvC made his 225th appearance for us.
- Dan Kemp made his 100th EFL appearance for us.
- Luther James-Wildin made his 100th League One start for us.
- We are now W2 L6 at Valley Parade.
- We have now conceded 475 away goals in the EFL, exc. playoffs.
IT'S NOT A DERBY!!!
We (@StevenageYouth) have been drawn away to Luton Town in the FA Youth Cup First Round, with the tie due to be played by the 31st October.
Last season we reached the Fifth Round for the first time in our history.

The guy's as bad as Man City.
Neil Warnock says that during his Burton Albion days, he hit a proper crisis just before kick-off: his star striker, Stewart Mell, was nowhere to be seen and the teamsheet was already in.
His fix? Send one of the lads into a toilet cubicle with his shorts down and orders to sound like he was on his way out. “Heave like you’ve never heaved in your life,” Warnock told him, “and no matter what anybody says, don’t open the door whatever you do.”
Off he went to the referee looking heartbroken, explaining that Mell had “come down with food poisoning” and was “puking in the toilet,” so probably couldn't start.
“I’m sure their lot won’t mind,” Warnock said, “because he’s my best player.”
A linesman was sent along to check. Warnock coughed on the way in, and from behind the door came: “Euggggggegh… euggggesssh…”
It was so convincing Warnock reckoned the kid sounded like he was genuinely dying. He looked at the linesman: “That’s how bad he is.”
The linesman walked off impressed, and the ref allowed a late reshuffle with Mell on the bench “if he recovered sufficiently.”
Five minutes before kick-off, mid team talk, in runs Stewart Mell. Still dressed in his fireman's uniform.
“Gaffer, I’m terribly sorry,” he said, “there were two accidents, I ran over a dog…”
Warnock's response: “Just get changed.”
Then it was back to the ref's door, this time playing the honest man.
“Listen, ref,” he said, “I’ve decided it’s just not fair. It’s not fair on Wootton. I put Stewart Mell on my teamsheet in the first place so I’d rather start him.”
The ref even thanked him for it. “It’s very good of you.”
And Warnock, straight-faced: “Think nothing of it.”
And we have now officially qualified for the next stage.
If we avoid defeat to Fulham U21 in a month, we will top the group and have a home tie in the next round.
Lolz.
🇧🇷 Richarlison starts for @SpursOfficial U21 in tonight's #JerseyMikesTrophy clash against @CTFCofficial!
#EFL
- Our 25th 1-0 win at home in League One.
- Our 125th home clean sheet in the EFL.
- Tommy Setford's first clean sheet means he is the 10th goalkeeper to keep a clean sheet for us in League One, and the 26th in the EFL.
- Today is the 200th match that Alex Revell has taken charge of for the club.
- Terence Vancooten moves into fifth place for most EFL starts for the club, one ahead of Jamie Reid.
- Carl Piergianni & Dan Kemp have played in every match this season, in all competitions.
It's going to feel like the first game of the season again after that damn international break - I can't wait to be back in my seat at the back of the Norf Stand!
Just finished prepping all my bits and pieces that may happen tomorrow too, so am fully set to go. Up it!
A great interview with two great men and great players, who are definitely in club legend territory.
Some alright stats sprinkled in there too 😉 (most impressive Pidge knew his exact number of appearances and Luther either knew, or guessed ludicrously closely!).
Captains' Catch-up. 🗣️
We caught up with Captain Carl Piergianni & Vice-Captain Luther James-Wildin during the international break, talking all things Boro'! 🤩

We are forever slated by other clubs for having a small fanbase, but our club, with its small fanbase, is blessed to have so many people so dedicated to it, be it 'just' as fans, or who put other content out, and none moreso than the GOAT that is Boroguide. Check out the below 👇
This Saturday will mark match number 2️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ that Alex Revell has managed for the club.
To celebrate, you may have a video of me applauding him, and him applauding us back, from Bristol Rovers away xx
- 25 wins for us in the history of the competition.
- Five consecutive wins in the group stages.
- Wanya Marcal is the 19th player to score more than once in the competition for us.
- Olly Sanderson is the 59th player to score for us in the competition.
Carl Piergianni and Dan Kemp remain as the only players to have featured in all matches, in all competitions, for us this season.
The guy is insane. An absolute beast.
And he got to see his son win the Grand Final with Wakefield, with a stunning performance. Wonderful stuff 👏
Should be a good listen!
You are in for a treat. These two. Coming in your ears this weekend. 30 minutes of chat, Hyrox, Steve Evans, Rochdale away and of course Luthers breakfast. As well as lots of stats courtesy of @_BoroStats
One of our former players, @LiamSmyth10, continues to tear it up for Biggleswade United. A goal from his own half today! He has been unstoppable this season as Biggleswade Utd chase promotion.
