I don’t know if this has been suggested before, but this would improve instant replay rulings (manager challenges, etc): Replays should have a clock - maybe the same amount of time as the pitch clock. If the call is not conclusively overturned by the end of the clock, the original call stands.

The Pirates have the worst luck - playing well at .500. They would be just a half game out of the last AL wild card slot, but in the NL find themselves 5 out with two teams ahead of them. To be fair, .500 teams have no right being in the playoffs, but that is the system we have.

Why dWAR (defensive WAR; a component of WAR) is a JOKE: 10x Gold Glover Al Kaline has a career 2.8 dWAR, good for > 1,000th place Tris Speaker, widely considered the greatest defensive center fielder before Willie Mays, has a career 2.5 dWAR, also good for > 1,000th place Speaking of Willie Mays, he has a career 18.2 dWAR, good for 70th best all-time, tied with Scott Fletcher. Roberto Clemente, widely considered as one of the greatest outfielders of all-time, has a career 12.2 dWAR, tied for 189th best all-time. Joe DiMaggio, also considered one of the greatest defensive outfielders of all-time just misses the top 1,000, at a paltry 3.2 dWAR. And apparently first basemen don't matter at all because: Keith Hernandez and Don Mattingly, considered by many to be two of the greatest fielding first basemen of all time, have a 1.3 and -6.2 (!) career dWAR, respectively. Both are significantly worse than Wander Franco's 3.4 career dWAR. And Hernandez has the *highest* dWAR of all time for a first sacker, so far as I can tell. I could go on and on, but that's enough... And people wonder why WAR is not embraced?

I love it when people on this platform are obviously being provocative, by, I don't know, implying that PCA is better than Joe D as a random example, but then become incredulous when others reply back disputing the implied claim.
