Paramedic info: Non-ambulatory (unable to walk) sitting in a chair in the garage where he sleeps. Covered in urine and feces. Cat piss smell so strong it hits you at the door. Bedbugs. Trash piled so high you can barely walk to him. Tunneling sores on his backside from sitting in one position for days. Sepsis waiting. Stained T-shirt, filthy blanket, and a hat that says VETRAN with his insignia. Alert and oriented x4. Family gone or too old to lift him. Left there to fade. This is how a lot of people end. We know it. We see it. That’s why they can mandate experiments, lie about the data, and get almost no real anger. A country that leaves its own veterans in a garage like this will swallow anything. And many don’t even have the garage. God forgive us for allowing it. If it were up to me, hell would be deeper. God bless

She later said she felt humiliated, and “a little raped,” by both men. She struggled afterward with addiction, depression, and a career that kept trying to freeze her as that girl on the floor. She turned down roles that treated her as a sexual object. She kept working, including a praised turn opposite Jack Nicholson in The Passenger. The lasting recognition never matched the scandal. Maria Schneider died in Paris in 2011, at 58. Years later her account became part of a larger fight over consent, power, and what a director is allowed to do to an actor for “art.” Her legacy is not only the film that made her famous.
